Ice Cold in Alex or Eating in ...
Yesterday morning police raided a premises not too far from here that they suspected of being a drugs lab.

What they found was 3 dead men that had been asphyxiated by the cooking of the drugs, they went on to find 95 tonnes of waste chemicals from the manufacturing of the drugs in the woods behind the house. There were drums and bales of what ever chemicals etc. that had been used in the lab. The dead men were Dutch in origin.

Last year there was a drugs related shooting not too far from where that lab was found, not close but along the same street. There was also a money exchange for a blackmail/ hostage at the carpark of the local bike store, police were waiting and got the perpetrators but only after one of them had been shot.

A bit before that there had been another drugs raid, this time on a house that my son had rented out to some Turkish men, they had knocked holes in the walls to run hydroponics and electricity through the house to grow cannabis. The men paid for the repairs to the house but my son is fed up with the situation and is tearing the building down and going to build new apartments in it's place.

On the news today the Politie are saying that there are a lot of drug labs in the area along the border here and that the waste from the labs has been dumped in streams and rivers in the area.

Man you never know what is going on behind closed doors now a days.

There have been a few round here in Rural Worcestershire. Large isolated premises taken over, activities cleverly camouflaged, some poor chap of Vietnamese origin locked in to tend to the plants. Only detected by smell, one case being a sniffer dog handler that lived in the area whose dog made the off-duty discovery.
Only cannabis though, sounds as if your people are making something chemical base hence the toxic waste?
Sounds a distressing situation for your son, I wonder how he fared regarding building insurance claims?

I'm fairly certain they were making crystal meth at the lab.

In Houston on Monday night, the Undercover squad did a Drug House raid.
It did not go well.
The first officer (age 37) in was attacked by a pitbull, which he promptly killed with a shotgun. But he was hit in the shoulder by return fire by the Drug Man (age 53). Officer fell onto sofa, and was attacked by Drug Woman (50's) who attempted to get his shotgun.
Officers 2 (age 51), Officer 3 (age 40+), & Officer 4 (50) entered the residence and #2 shot in face, and #3 in neck (?), Office 4 dove out of the line of fire and tweaked his knee.
Officer 5 (age 54), who has been on the force 20+ years and already shot twice before, was the Battering Ram Guy. He was last in, as he had to put the ram down. He was shot in the face as he entered. He then proceeded to drag either shot officer #2 or #3 out of the apartment.

The officers inside the apartment immediately engaged the Drug Woman and killed her as she wrestled for #1's gun.
By this time, the Drug Man came back into room from his cover and was shot and killed.

All officers are doing well, only #5 is going to have to have multiple surgeries to fix his face.

Takeaway: Don't *(&# with 50 year old Houston Cops!

Holy cow Bill. Now that’s a really screwed up incident. I’m glad to hear that all the officers are alive.

It's nice to see Eddie finally cleaned up and playing well in recent interviews. But man, meth sure takes a toll...

There usually are other options other than going into an apartment or residence when people are more likely to still be awake and have access to a chest of weapons or not going into the residence at all but waiting until they exit ; if none of those are options then get on the bull horn and order them out of their house or smoke them out. Walking into a house or apartment is super high risk and should be the last choice as has been proven over and over again.

The folk renting the house paid for the repairs. But, he is knocking the house down and rebuilding it as 5 apartments.

Been away for a few days in Scotland and just got my internet turned on again after changing ISP downplaying catch up here.
It was a meth lab, the people in it were youngsters of Dutch origin, it was one of the boy's parents that called the police as they had not heard from him in a few days and that is why the police visited the premises. It was an old factory that had been converted into industrial units and the meth cookers were in there.

It must have been a big lab to produced 93 tonnes of waste.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

From what i'm reading the 95 tonnes is for the entire province of Limburg in the year 2018, which corresponds to a manufacturing of 150 million euro of drugs.

Source: https://www.hln.be/nieuws/binnenland/drie-doden-aangetroffen-in-loods-in-eksel-die-was-ingericht-als-drugslabo~a95f64e7/?referer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F

I'm not too bothered with it though. Yes, the street prices of XTC, MDMA and speed have fallen dramatically in the Netherlands in the past 6 years, but I haven't seen or known anyone dieing from bad stuff in years. It seems that all the small home producers have been pushed out of the market by the large international producers. I do believe the government should reinburse the farmers which ground is polluted by the drug waste though. The dutch IRS has no problem with drug money, as long as the money is registered in the yearly tax statement. So if the government reaps the benefit, they should also bear responsibility for the drawback of semi-regulation: Either allow drug waste to be deposited at chemical waste plants, or reinburse the farmers.

On another board I frequent a Texas cop gloated about the killing of the 2 persons.

Bad stuff, KK.
Hopefully some firing and maybe jail time is coming.

I know that my Handgun Forum was calling for an investigation the day after I posted the information. Too many things didn't pass the smell test.
Like why no body cams, no backup, etc.

I know some inside stuff on the issue, and those officers are in trouble.
