The link is in today's post in the 160 "sticky" folder.

The new exes allow:
Enemy encounter selection
Tracer modification by "TracerSet.mpf"
Aircraft number modification by "MaxSet.mpf"
Multipart ships on invisible rail lines
Alt-G to toggle the gunsight off for screenies

The latest version of the PlaneSetExeTheatreSwitch program (V3) is also installed.
I will post more details re- the MPF files shortly.

wink Jel

I'm using a special version of the PSM program that you made for me. It allows for screen scrolling because I couldn't get to the bottom of the right hand pane.

This version of the program automatically loads the plansets as V3 does.

So the question is, does V3 include the screen scroll or should I stick with my special version?

Also, not to hijack the thread, but could you add screen scrolling to the string editor? Any string file longer than about 30 lines and you can't get to all the lines.

The PlaneSetExeTheatreSwitch program is not an editor, but just a file-manager.
The lists in it have scrollbars when appropriate.
The string editor I use has scrollbars. What are you using?

There is a fix to correct a problem with today's update installation relating to the farm TMod
Check the new post with a link in the 160 sticky smile

I know it's not an editor, I use it every day and all due respect, you didn't answer the question.

Let me rephrase.
What is the difference between V2 and V3?
Your answer will help me decide if I should switch from the special version called "PSM160SpecialSmallSreen.exe" to V3.

I didn't realize there had been an update so I had two different versions, one with scrolling and one without. I've deleted the older one.

From the 160 sticky thread

Quote
The "PlaneSetExeTheatreSwitchV3.exe" utility will be added to replace the V2 version.
The difference between the two is that when you select a planeset in V2 it lists the aircraft but does not load the planeset. It is easy to forget to click the load button to actually load the planeset.
In V3 the planeset is loaded when you click on it.

So, a simple yes or no is all I'm looking for.

From your question about V3 I had assumed that you already had V2, and would have known that scrollbars appear on the selection lists when needed

FWIW, that screenshot doesn't show the planeset BUILDING window. It shows the SELECTION window.

I switched to the special version you built for me because I couldn't reach the bottom of the screen on the planeset BUILDING window in V2.

So, I STILL need to know if V3 scrolls in the BUILDING window the way my special version does, not the SELECTION window.

I will shortly be posting a link to a pair of new exes which use all of the data in the "TracerSet.mpf" file created by the "TracerPro.exe" utility:

[Linked Image]

EAW displays tracers differently depending on the "SPECIAL EFFECTS" setting in "config/graphics"
If it is low or medium a simple tracer display is used, and the colour is the one set in the low resolution bullet tracer colour for the gun that is fired.
In high resolution the tracer is a small bullet with the low resolution colour setting, followed by a flare with the colour set in the second panel.
These values are RGB triplets, each with a maximum of 255.

Clicking on a colour and then the name of the gun puts the values in the text boxes.
Non-standard values can be tried using direct entry in the text boxes.

The bottom panel has three values. If the frequency is "5" then every 5th bullet will be a tracer.
I usually leave the other two as "1", but they can be modified to see what changes different values cause.
When you click "Save" the "TracerSet.mpf" file is saved in the folder where the utility is, so I keep it in the 160 root folder where the new 160 exes read it.
If there in no "TracerSet.mpf" file in the root folder then the exes use the default values which are hard coded in the exe itself.

The patch will install the two new exes in the "EAW Versions" folder, and the "TracerPro.exe" in the 160 folder.
You can get it here: TracerPro and February 5th exes

wink Jel

As I wrote it is just a filemanager. It is just a simple program to load an exe, a planeset and a theatre for users who do not want to make or edit planesets.
There is just the one window smile

Thankyou Adger. I have a question smile
Is Adger "Boggy"?

I'm almost old enough to remember Sir Stanley Matthews playing for Stoke City, and I definitely remember him getting a cup final medal with Blackpool smile

Your welcome MrJelly.
Sorry i dont get your meaning of the question mate..Adger is my nickname since the age of 8 given to me by my then football manager biggrin

Im not quite that old MrJelly..yet haha. I never got to see the great man play he was also the 1st winner of the Ballon d'Or in 1956 whilst playing for Blackpool. I have met him on numerous occasions prior to his death,he had a kind word for everybody..a remarkable man.
We have a statue outside our stadium dedicated to him (also one of Gordan Banks) Stoke and Englands greatest Goalie

There was a pilot here named "Boggy", and his surname may have been "Mansell". He flew EAW online occasionally.
He lived in the Stoke area and was a diehard Stoke City supporter.

I am familiar with that area, having been born in Stockport, and after University I did my teaching diploma at Alsager college and Keele University whilst living in Crewe.
Of goalkeepers I saw Frank Swift and Bert Trautmann, and many others at Maine Road wink

Cheers

Then the confusion is in this name "PSM160SpecialSmallSreen.exe" which, if I understand correctly, is a completely different program for switching files than the "PlaneSetExeTheatreSwitch.exe" program.

Sure could've saved a bunch of time if I'd known that.
