I don't even like this song, but wow, hearing John Bonham isolated, it's a song in itself...

Best audio you own recommended - and loud! Phone won't do this one justice...

Supposedly inspired by the "Bernard Shuffle" (by Bernard Purdie) which ultimately inspired the beat for "Rosanna" by Toto.

The issue is not p*ssy. The issue is monkey.

It is funny, being a drummer since I was 13 and being able to play this song 98% accurate(i might miss something here or there as i don't play much anymore) I listened to the track and found it quite boring to hear the drums alone. Now, putting on the headphones and playing with the complete song is a blast. This is just IMHO as a drummer, no disrespect intended. winkngrin

It’s a cool groove, no doubt about that, but it’s the same. #%&*$#. thing through the whole song, with very little in the way of variation.

That pretty much sums up most drum tracks in rock and roll.

The beauty of that Toto beat is in the subtlety (ghosted notes). I'll bet that most detractors/critics can't pull it off and just do a simplified version while calling it boring out of envy:

The issue is not p*ssy. The issue is monkey.

That repetition (in drums and bass) is what gives a song it's feel. And when the groove is just right, you don't want it to stop! biggrin
