I don't even like this song, but wow, hearing John Bonham isolated, it's a song in itself...

It’s a cool groove, no doubt about that, but it’s the same. #%&*$#. thing through the whole song, with very little in the way of variation.
That pretty much sums up most drum tracks in rock and roll.

The beauty of that Toto beat is in the subtlety (ghosted notes). I'll bet that most detractors/critics can't pull it off and just do a simplified version while calling it boring out of envy:

That repetition (in drums and bass) is what gives a song it's feel. And when the groove is just right, you don't want it to stop!
