I just reinstalled EAW on a whim, been ages since I last flew it. I'm on my old Windows 7 computer, with my X45 as controller ID1, set with JoyID, and my MOMO Force as ID2. The game will only accept the MOMO as the primary joystick. I have also tried setting the X45 as the preferred device, to no avail. Running a clean install and 1.28 now. Do I need another version for this to work? I tried editing the .ini, but it resets to Windows Joystick=1 no matter what I do after I have started the game. Any ideas?

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

Those are two help docs.
But I know a X36 is not compatible with EAW. I have notes somewhere about it. So I take it the X45 is not either....???....

Try just using one controller plugged into the computer at a time, perhaps the X45 as ID1. Then run the game.

The windows joystick setting in the INI may have been programmed to keep defaulting to 1, I cant remember if thats the change they made in the code or not. Its prefered as =1 anyhow for modern windows.

EDIT:
I'm sorry I do have the X36 listed as working with EAW in some fashion.

Below is an old link, to an old topic about the X36, it may be helpfull for you.

Windows 7 support the X45 and the software for the X45 : Saitek_X45_Flight_Controller_SD6_64.exe & SST_Software_64_6_6_6_9.exe .Run drivers
then SST software. This will give you the choice of ingame setup or SST software.
While playing around I noticed that having more than one usb control plugged in caused problems . Try Unplugging your MOMO Force, this should
fix your .problem
Please let me know if it dose. Thank You
