I have ReShade 4.0 working in European Air War 1.60 in widescreen D3D under an NVidia GPU , via DGVoodoo 2. Although the ReShade text appears on the loading and briefing screens, I am uncertain whether or not any effects are actually happening, but the attached screenshots look well, regardless.

Perhaps others might like to try ReShade and give an opinion as to whether it has any effect other than my imagination? When installing, you need to work through DGVoodoo 2 and choose the 'D3D 10+' option in ReShade 4.

I'd be willing to give it a try but the set up asks questions that I have no idea how to answer.

Could you do a write up on EXACTLY how you installed the program? (And I mean EXACT, from the extraction to the running of EAW, down to the smallest possible detail. Meaning..............assume nothing. biggrin )

Thanks and I hope it works out for us.

Here goes.

1). One needs to be on Windows 7. I'm not sure if this will work at all in Win 8 or 10.

2). One needs DGVoodoo 2. This will only work if you run EAW through this facility. I have outlined in detail a few posts back how to run EAW in Voodoo. Refer to my 'Horizon Fog in D3D' thread.

3). Once one has EAW running under Voodoo, which in my case has allowed me to enable Horizon Fog in widescreen 1920x1080 D3D, with a modernish (660ti) nVidia card, one ought to be in a position to enable ReShade 4.

4). Go to the ReShade website and download ReShade 4. One should have a ReShade Setup executive file In your download. Place this on your desktop and activate it.

5). This should give you a 'run' message. Run it and a small rectangular window, with a 'welcome' message on top, should appear. Within this rectangle there is a further grey rectangle that says 'Select game to install to or uninstall from'. Click on this and locate your EAW exe file and open.

6). This brings up another rectangular window with the message, 'Select the rendering API the game uses'.

7). Select Direct3D 10+ (of course, one needs a graphics card that supports DirectX 10 or higher.

8). You will now be asked, 'Do you wish to download a collection of standard effects from https://github.com/crosire/reshade-shaders?

9). Select 'yes' and you will be presented within a few moments with a list of options. Click 'Uncheck All' and select the ones you want.

10). Click 'ok', click on the ReShade exe and exit the window.

Start European Air War.

Ah well, running Vista here so right off the bat I'm out of the running, but thank you none the less for taking the time to write out the instructions. I hope other members will give it a try and report back.

I think it works on all OS's that predate Win 8, so Vista should be compatible.

Maybe, but I've got also got an integrated video system not a stand alone card so I'm still out of the running.

FWIW, I don't actually play EAW, I'm one of the few remaining modders, so this would have been nice but not necessary.

Still, thank you for making the effort.

Now, it is possible MarkEAW would add your write ups to his repository of EAW knowledge so other players can give it a try.
