Here goes.
). One needs to be on Windows 7. I'm not sure if this will work at all in Win 8 or 10.
). One needs DGVoodoo 2. This will only work if you run EAW through this facility. I have outlined in detail a few posts back how to run EAW in Voodoo. Refer to my 'Horizon Fog in D3D' thread.
). Once one has EAW running under Voodoo, which in my case has allowed me to enable Horizon Fog in widescreen 1920x1080 D3D, with a modernish (660ti) nVidia card, one ought to be in a position to enable ReShade 4.
). Go to the ReShade website and download ReShade 4. One should have a ReShade Setup executive file In your download. Place this on your desktop and activate it.
). This should give you a 'run' message. Run it and a small rectangular window, with a 'welcome' message on top, should appear. Within this rectangle there is a further grey rectangle that says 'Select game to install to or uninstall from'. Click on this and locate your EAW exe file and open.
). This brings up another rectangular window with the message, 'Select the rendering API the game uses'.
). Select Direct3D 10+ (of course, one needs a graphics card that supports DirectX 10 or higher.
). You will now be asked, 'Do you wish to download a collection of standard effects from
https://github.com/crosire/reshade-shaders?9). Select 'yes' and you will be presented within a few moments with a list of options. Click 'Uncheck All' and select the ones you want.
). Click 'ok', click on the ReShade exe and exit the window.
