I was mucking around today with DGVoodoo 2 on my 1.29 installation, with the intention of trying some reshade effects in EAW.
I installed DGVoodoo through JSGME. Via this facility, I put the contents of the MS folder (d3d8.dll, d3dimm.dll and ddraw.dll) from the DGVoodoo zip file into the main EAW directory, along with the dgvoodoo.conf and the exe.
I then ran and set up DGVoodoo thus:
1). Ensure config folder on top left is that containing the eaw.exe. Also, press the '.\' button to the right of this.
2). Set Videocard to GeForce FX 5700 Ultra.
3). Set VRAM to 256MB
4). Set Texture Filtering to 'Force anisotrophic 16x'.
5). Set Resolution to 1920x1080.
6). Set Antialiasing to 8x.
7). Set Force vSync.
8). Click 'Apply' and 'OK'.
Having done all this, I started my widescreen D3D European Air War game to discover I had Horizon Fog! Obviously I am emulating the FX 5700.
I have yet to try out the Reshade business, but this should be good enough for now. There are some mouse anomalies in the Screens, but nothing worse than minor.

Perhaps. I'll look into it later on to see if there was a change. Are you sure you have FOG, and not just a cloudy day, or stormy sky? I confused those two before with the FOG. Anyway, glad you shared with us, this tip.

Certainly, I continue to have the fog on my Windows 7, although it is highly regrettable that those on Win 8 and 10, like yourself, seemingly continue to be denied the opportunity. Our game struggles to keep pace with 'progress'. I hear of ways of creating partitions that can run alternative OS's, but that's as far as I know. Alternatively, is it possible to install Win 7 on a separate hard-drive? Again, I know nothing.
Happy Christmas,
Mick.
