It's been a few years since I played Falcon-4 and I'm ready to move forward with BMS. I know there are is a lot of information online and I'm catching up on all of it. I wanted to ask just a few simple questions so save me a lot of reading.

1. I know that in BMS you have access to 360 degree visibility. Personally I preferred the old static views where I could turn in the direction I wanted using my joy-stick. Is that available in BMS?

2. Are all the cockpit controls still usable as they were in Falcon 4?

3. There are many online air combat simulators but most of us already know that cheating and hacking have become synonymous with online play. Is there any cheating/hacking in BMS that anybody has noticed? If so, how is that being dealt with?

4. In Falcon 4 the documents had all the basic flight tutorials/training included. Does BMS include the flight tutorials as well? I'm clearly going to need to start all over again I personally I'm not a fan of video tutorials that are on youtube. I prefer to have the docs next to me as I go through the flight training.

Thanks.

1. If you are referring to pan views, yes, you can use a hat switch to scroll your view around.

2. Yes

3. Not that I know of in most groups.

4. Yes, there are great manuals, and there is an entire set of training TE's covering the basics and more advanced stuff.

Thanks for replying.

I was looking through a few docs today (Falcon 4.0 Manual with TeeSquare notes) and I'm guessing this is the training manual I want to start with flying again.
As I'm reading I noticed some text written in red ink through the manual and I have a question I hope you help with. In the manual (pg 1-7) he's referring to the cockpit illustration in (Dash-1 pg 139). What manual is he referring to here? Do I have all the docs I need or are more to be downloaded?

I haven't yet installed anything so will I find additional docs once installation is complete or should I have them already?

Along with BMS 3.xx updates is a good revamping of the documentation. Once you install look in doc folder. You will be pleased.

As good as the Falcon 4.0 manual is, and as much as we may revere it, I would use it more to get in the mood than as a helpful training aid. Too much has been changed in BMS. While much of it still applies, many things, particularly procedures, have changed. As Piper and EjectEject alluded to, the documentation that is included with BMS is both extensive and accurate for this version.

Read the F4 manual for nostalgia and mood-setting. Train with the BMS docs.

Hi guys.

Thanks for replying.
Ok, I've been going over the docs that I have and here is the list:
-BMS training
-F4 BMS manual
-Falcon 4 manual with tee-square notes

DBond suggested that I read the F4 manual for nostalgia and to train with BMS docs. The part where I'm still a little lost is this. In the F4 manual I have key commands that I can follow along with to help me with the mission but in the BMS manual I don't see any. I have a printout of the keyboard commands which I use to help me with my missions but again, the BMS manual doesn't refer to them. Instead of pausing the sim to go over the notes I plan to print them out and have them next to me as I re-train so I would like to know which set of notes I need to use to achieve this with? Is the BMS manual still valid for all training?

The issue I think is that which key does what is dependent on which keyfile the player using. The BMS documentation gives the name of the callback (ieTMS Up etc) because that can really be any button or key. So the docs don't list the actual keys to hit.

I suspect the answer is yes, but having played the sim for many years I really only focused on stuff that was new or changed, such as Maverick deployment when I began flying BMS.

I think the F4 manual is still good for things like BFM and ACM, but not for cockpit procedures like weapons deployment or HMCS where too much has been changed or added.

And there's always this forum if you have any specific questions we have folks who will know the answer or have advice.

Hi DBond
Sorry for the late reply. I don't receive any notifications that somebody replied to my post so I lose track. I starting to think I'll just print out all of these manuals and go from there.

Thanks
;

MSI GTX 780 OC 3GB
