FYI guys, there have been a few discussions about realism in DCS World .
And its been said more than a few times, "DCS is no Falcon 4. If you want that level of accuracy and realism go to Falcon 4 and fly Vipers."

^ What he said.
I think most Falcon players feel this way, but comparisons between DCS and Falcon never turn out well.

I wonder if DCS A-10C has more switches implementad than BMS (there are many parts not implemented) and what version is more realistic with the current aircraft software. I read the A10C software has changed a lot compared with DCS A10C, so a lot of the avionic system is outdated (source: link ). I don't know if it's the same with F16 Block 52. Regarding the AI and immersive campaign I have no doubts who is my favorite.

I was just looking to drop a compliment.

Both sims have strengths and weaknesses. Right on Boomer. Although I only have a few short hours in DCS and a few thousand in Falcon I believe this to be a very true statement. I suppose the rivalry may never die, and as long as it stays civil it may even be fruitful to some extent...but then there are those that take it a little too far. I was just looking to drop a compliment. Thanks for clearing it up. I figured as much, but didn't want it to turn into "one of those threads".

If dcsw can get a dynamic campaign engine, bms is done.

I have been using F4 since it came out in 1998 and after some years of not using Falcon BMS, I tried DCS since I had an Oculus DK2. I played DCS for a bit to try the A10C but even after having payed for this sim, I recently completely wiped it from disk out of frustration with the load times. Now lets first start with my computer. I deliberately don't call it a gaming rig because it is nothing like what most people game on:
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9650 @ 3.00GHz, 2992 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s) Adapter Type GeForce GTX 970, NVIDIA compatible Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB (DDR2)
What keeps this miserable 2009 setup working is that it has a relatively big 12MB L2 cache.
When I had DCS 1.X I could fire up and be in the simulator in about 5 - 10 minutes. Irritating but things were playable. The 2.X are a different story. Once installed it was off my disk after the first try and I will never use that software on this machine again because just the start up is 30 minutes to get into the A10 cockpit and is unplayable even without the VR.
Mean while I was already using Falcon BMS U5 again on this low end computer in max graphics settings which looks close to the eye candy of DCS yet from the double click to sitting in the cockpit takes 30 seconds with all Gfx in max setting with TrackIR and it is just amazing to see how smooth and fast Falcon BMS is.
Maybe DCS is a fine simulator but I cannot evaluate that today. But if you want to be in the cockpit in seconds with full DC and all the amazing graphics then BMS is a clear winner. Even for cross platform. Falcon BMS runs on Linux and the latest macOS using wine and looks awesome on these platforms and runs equally well. In fact on my macBook it looks close to what the GTX970 has to offer and I bring my Sim with me on travels without needing a machine with tons of memory and a Pascal GTX 1060 or better Gfx card.
For me personally Falcon BMS is the clear choice with 95% realism according to F16 pilots with superb graphics on low cost machines!

I had a similar issue with DCS 2.x
In my case it boiled down to RAM. I had 6 GB onboard and added another 12 GB (My Win 7 Home Premium only recognizes 16 GB, but OH WELL...) After the addition of RAM, the load times for 2.x matched 1.8.
That said, DCS has never grabbed me....
