Downloaded. Going into my Campaign to test it out. Thank you very much CheifWH.
Edit: CheifWH, thank you so much. This map looks really good but more importantly it is highly accurate when you are flying and comparing to the actual landscape in sim. I am hoping maybe that this will make it into WOTR someday as the default map. Thanks for all of your hard work, it really is a must have.
Thanks for the comments, they are much appreciated, it makes the time spent on this more worthwhile.
I've added a file that can be substititued in the scenary folders here:
C:\OBDSoftware\WOTR\WOTRScenery\Period\1939\Map
and
C:\OBDSoftware\WOTR\WOTRScenery\Period\1940\Map
That will change the campaign and briefing maps.
NB. For some reason high resolution maps couldn't work in here, the locations were all completely off, maybe it counts pixels for locations? So I've just reduced the resolution and size of my high res map to work in here. This does of course mean that they lose that resolution and detail but I think they still work ok and look better. I probably will change the style a bit to look less like a folded map and more like how I imagine one on a briefing room wall would look, but not now.
NB. The positions were still slightly off for some reason, I had to add a slight top and side border and I think it aligns near enough to be used. If you find it doesn't then let me know.
I've never put a mod into JSGME, so if someone can direct me to a guide on how to do so that would be useful, all I've found is guides on how to use as the end user (which I know how to do).
There is a mod builders tool on Sandbaggers WOFF site that comes with instructions. Download it and read the readme file. If you still need help after that just PM me.

Hi guys. I'm new to the group and really enjoying Wings over the Reich, so i thought i'd install ChiefWH's Alternative Briefing map icons and the Accurate map( hi res) The JSGME programs installed in the right place ( i think) but i cant get them to activate in the game. I've followed the readme file but still no luck. Could someone walk me through what files i should see going in to the mods folder please. Many thanks.
I recently changed the files (to include the readme), so I may have introduced a bug, I'll check but what you should have in the mod folder for the map Mod is like this:
The path to the files in the MOD folder of WOTR should look like:
OBDSoftware\WOTR\MODS\ChiefWHs_map_mod_v1.0\OBDWW2 Wings Over The Reich\aircraft\shared
OK, I've just done an end to end test download and install of the high res map mod and it worked ok, so I'm assuming the sprites one does too for now.
My first guess would be that maybe JSGME is not installed in the right place, the 'simplest' way to install JSGME is for each game, so install it here:
C:\OBDSoftware\WOTR
Then run it and it will create the MODS folder here:
C:\OBDSoftware\WOTR\MODS
Unzip mod files into this MODS folder directly.
Then run the JSGME exe fle that is in
C:\OBDSoftware\WOTR
to install and uninstall Mods.
Let me know if you still have trouble, you can always PM me too (although it is hard to see the PM notification on this forum!).
Great you are carrying on ChiefWH, if you do get through it can you also add City/Town Names with the indicating dots, and the Group 10/11/12/13 areas, and the German luftwaffe groups as the original map. Unfortunately it's the text that looks worse on a very zoomed in map.
?...is it possible to zoom in and out on the map? If so, what are the default keys for that? Thanks in advance.
