I listened to the soundtrack last night and this is seriously an amazing work of music by Basil Poledouris. It’s easily one of my favorite film soundtracks of all time.

Here’s a great sample.

I prefer his "The Hunt for Red October" soundtrack, but the Conan soundtrack was still awesome - just a matter of taste. smile

Basil Poledouris, John Williams, Ennio Morricone.

Their music is incredible. There are other great contributors to the world of motion picture soundtracks, but for me those three are the top of the list.

Ennio is great.

I always get chills listening to this:

There are some incredibly awe-inspiring moments of Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard's collaboration on the Gladiator soundtrack.

Gladiator indeed has an incredible score. In my opinion it’s Hans Zimmer’s best score of his career.

I think I’d have to put Jerry Goldsmith in place of any one of the above, but that’s not a dig on your picks. And I can’t leave out Miklos Rosza, of course! Honorable mention goes to John Addison, Operation Market Garden veteran who went on to score “A Bridge Too Far” 30 years later.

"Alien", "Star Trek: The Motion Picture", "The Blue Max" and "Patton" are my absolute favorite scores from Goldsmith.

Conan OST is indeed awsome. I also really like his Robocop main theme and absolutely love the one from Starship Troopers.

You should watch “The Wind and the Lion” sometime, it’s another Goldsmith score (also directed by John Milius.)
