I just - JUST - finished reading this, and all I can say that’s suitable to print here is WOW. What an incredible continuance of the series, David Weber really made it worth the 6.5 year wait since the last mainline book. If you’re an HH fan, get the book. If not, pick up “On Basilisk Station” and start reading. Or google and start in chronological order. The “Crown of Slaves” and “Saganami Island” parallel series will fill in a lot of gaps in the HH series and should be considered mandatory. David Weber is one hell of a storyteller.

Ice Cold in Alex or Eating in ...
yeah finished this last week, great next chapter in the saga and well worth the read.

So much I would like to say about it but everything ends up as a major spoiler.

I had to force myself to take my time with reading this volume, the urge to binge and finish it in one sitting was very strong.

Now reading, and enjoying, Roger Ball the biography of John Monroe "Hawk" Smith but secretly wishing for another HH book smile

I’m really curious as to what’s going on in Silesia and with the Anderman Empire, hopefully the next book(s) will go there.

Haven't read HH in like 5 years, so I'm missing two books it seems and utterly forgotten the plot.

But I found the last couple of books in the main series to be pretty meh and formulaic.

I can see what you mean, and can’t help but wonder if it’s because all the bad guys have been ID’d and their plans set in motion.
