Hi community,

Just started to get into DCS World 2.5. Steep learning curve compared to other sims I've flown.

I've made no modification as of yet, but out of the box, the colors seem a bit 'washed out' so to speak, a lot like FSX used to be in its default form.

Does anybody know of a fix for this, or a way to darken the colors?

Thanks,

Andrew.

Kindest regards,

AJ

There is a Gamma slider in the DCS settings. Try playing around with that . I believe you can adjust it on the fly in game.

Hope that helps.

^ What the dragon said. By default the gamma is set to some 2.something value, which doesn't make any sense whatsoverer. Most folks go for 1.6-1.8 and that's where I'd start If I were you (flying with 1.8 myself).

While we're at it, I suggest using Mustang's terrain mod for the free Caucasus map, it offers a noticeable texture and colour tones improvement over not-so-great stock content:

that could explain why I found Nevada terrain colors in 2.5 so washed out - one of these days I'll give it a try again to see if that was the problem.
