I then HAVE to have compatability mode at win xp sp2?? i dont know why but anything else crashes.
I use the directdraw compatability tool for the miscolored menu graphics.
And it set up a new ini file Once i was able to get into the settings screen

A Massive thanks to you all..wow that was hard work,my bloody stubborness refuses me to give in cheers guys i owe you all a beer

You don't owe me anything, since I'm not sure I helped at all. In any event, the best thing you can do is to help out another person coming along.

Be happy to trade beers with you, though.

Ribob yours and others advice have helped pal,il try my best to help anyone else who's having any issues in getting EAW up and running. Cheers

Russ il try find a link pal,I think I grabbed it off Marks page. It's a zip that contains an exe. The exe is in my EAW folder and you direct it to the EAW.exe. It then asks what version of Win 32 or 64 bit..click and voila no more "miscolored" graphics. I'm on my phone at the moment as soon has I'm on the PC il find the link pal.

Aw, If I got to this sooner, I may have been able to help.
I don't know what it is with Jels ini, but it always CTD the game for me, I have to delete it and let eaw.exe generate a new one.

Took me awhile to figure this one problem out, a painful 20 mins or so back in the 1.40 days.
Not sure if I added such info to my help site......have to check.

Anyhow glad Adger has his game running now.

Mark, does your site include a list of auto generated files?
No, I do not have that list.

auto generated? I'm not aware of any, just the eaw.ini and maybe something called hof.dat. Oh and the mission / campaign data. I'm not sure if I have documented anything of the likes.
You may find some info in the downloads instead, possibly from the past.
