Just finished installing and running both to verify correct installation. Used latest possible examples of both publicly obtainable, and followed directions explicitly. Full Install of both.
Both run very well on my far-from-new computer, with no wrapper used. nGlide installed on computer.
They are both magnificent, each in their own way. I enjoy them both.
To the authors; Please accept my thanks for your efforts.

If the menu screens are messed up in Win7.
When I had Win7 I dropped the use of the D3DWindower and used a directdraw reg fix that windows recognizes. The program that makes the reg entiry is on my site and is mentioned a few times.
Its in mediafire under regfixes or something. If possible, can you be more specific? There's lots of files on your site, many of which with similar names. Sorry to be so ignorant, and thus so demanding.

Before I could do so, Russ has just reported that he tried this fix, and it worked for him. I'll do so tomorrow, and report back. Thanks!.

Mark reading the post I remembered last year sometime my screens got totally trashed and it was because I had FXAA turned on,,Just ran a test in PRO with the reg fix,,They were crystal clear,,,Turned FXAA on rebooted and man I couldn't even read the buttons...backed out turned FXAA and rebooted and they were back to normal..So I figure forget the FXAA and just with regulat 2 X AA again that's a Ge Force 1050..Maybe some one could run a quick test with another card,,,I didn't mess with any of the filtering selections..Right now EAW is looking good and running fine,,and the way my settings are my other games run good,,So if it ain't broke don't fix it !!

Okay. It must be the Directdraw reg fix compatibility will effect FXAA like you say. On Win10 where that particular fix isnt present the FXAA behaves differently. awell, wasn't that great of a setting anyhow. Like you said 2x AA is good enough to smooth the edges of the plane. Thanks for explaining that.

ShyHigh, what do you mean the FXAA is critical?
What it does for EAW when its working is it smoothes out the entire screen, not just the edges. It will smooth out textures of planes and the menu screens. Mark, it's probably obsolete information, now. I got an improvement in the menu screens when I disabled it, while seeing no detectable deterioration in my graphics. I've since used the registry 'fix' and obtained an even better improvement in the menus, so I might just reactivate FXAA and review it and to see if I get the same response as rwatson. There are so many variables and different systems that it's hard to declare anything definitively. In my game, to compensate for disabling FXAA, I increased ordinary AA to 4x, with little or no reduction in fps, but with a definite sharpening of image particularly noticeable in the cockpit frames. Update: I re-enabled FXAA and the garbled menus returned, with no detectable improvement in image and a 7 or 8 reduction in framerates. I disabled FXAA again, menus back to normal, and upped to 8x. The latter seemed to give a slight improvement in fps.
