Gents,
While traveling I am always on the look for a book store. Just found “Flying Minnows” by Roger Vee, Memoirs of a WWI fighter pilot from training in Canada to the Fromt Lines. 1917-1918. So far I am really enjoying this read.

That is an excellent book Mark, you will enjoy it cover to cover. I read it a good number of years ago now when I added a nice 1935 1st edition of it to my library. (cough cough, bragging, cough cough)

As I. Sounds like an excellent read! If Lou has read, promoted and has said copy in his library then it must be a hidden gem to be purchased. Will search for and purchase the book!

Cheers!

Somehow I knew you had a first edition Lou. I do honestly love owning history but a 100 year old word sounds the same as a 25 year old word in my head when reading. With that being said, Abe books has a first edition if anyone is interested. I have dealt with them a few times and are a pleasure to do business with.

I could not agree more with you Mark. When it comes to AbeBooks, I have gotten my money's worth every time and on more than one occasion far more than that, the best example of such being Duncan Grinnell-Milne's personal copy of his classic, "An Escaper's Log". The thread to that gem can be found at the following link:

An Escaper's Log

This particular book still gives me goosebumps each time I pick it up and peruse through it.
