Maybe I discovered hot water, look at this picture:

[Linked Image]

I copied in the game the B17 squadron made by Iron Mike (349th and 350th BS 100th BG 8-Bit glide ready version Thorpe Abbotts, England 1943-5 B17G based on skins by Chompy 'Iron Mike' Pluhar March, 2010) file MS06_B17G- 100thBG-8bit.
Then I copied the B17 files made by "Chompy" ("Gold Brick", to B-17 G-20-DL, SN 4237972, from the 100th BG, 349th BS, based at Thorpe Abbots, November 1943.) overwriting the present files. The result is what you see, basically a personalized plane. This thing is nice because it would allow to have in the formations of bomber aircraft guide.
For example, I know that the B24 formations always had airplanes, which had colored skins or otherwise different from other planes.

Unfortunately no one has ever made a squadron of B24 but for the B17 and B26 this was done.
My tests have given good results.
Maybe this was something you already knew but I preferred to say it anyway.

bye

Not sure which models you're using but they're probably the old ones available on Talley-ho.

There are much improved versions of the B-24, B-17 and B-26 in the 1.6 aircraft_inventory folders. The existing skins still fit but the 3dz wire frames have been modified to remove all the jagged edges.

You would need to retro-name the models back to the slotted system rather than the more modern slotless system but that's easy enough to do with the program called Mogprog.

Let me know if you are interested.

Hello Modred. Yes, I don't think anyone has made a squadron multiskin for the B24 Liberator, but there are some older individual skins. If you like I could probably dig some out.

I could be wrong, but I suspect that 1.28C does not run multiskins in any case.

FWIW, it looks like those B-26's are using the newest 3dz models.

Hello

[Linked Image]

I inserted the B26 in the multiskin squadron.
I confirm that the multiskin also works with version 1.28C

exactly, no one has ever created a multiskin squadron for the B24.

Thanks, but I prefer this HR model

If you goto this page:

https://eaw.neocities.org/codegroup-patches.html

and you search or find with your broswer function. "multiskins" you will see information about it. You may have to find a few locations in the help doc to research the information you want.

I believe it was improved upto the 1.28c version from 1.28

There never was a decent B-24J model made. Otherwise I would have created a squadron. I did however make the entire 100th Bomb Group (all 4 squadrons) but have not released it.

Keep up your work. please use any skins of mine you want.

Just post a few screenies from time to time.

Mike, is the "J" the one with the nose turret?

Pretty sure I could tack one onto the upgraded B-24D using an add-on hardpoint.

You are correct about the model number. The turret on the J has not (to my knowledge) been correctly modeled for EAW. I had a bit of work to make the B-24D a usable (read rivet correct) model. I had to tinker the nose art panel and 3dz to get it to display the aircraft's unique nose.

Modred, I built that model, lost it in a house fire but I still have the box art.
