I just installed the latest patch. I am flying the Hurricane. Prior to patch, cockpit sound as flying was primarily engine. Since patch, as I fly the engine sound is much lower and in the foreground dominating is that sound which I typically hear when just starting up my aircraft for takeoff when everyone else in the flight is starting up their engines. The engine noise is much lower, harder to hear. I've flown 2 missions since patch. On second mission as I came in for landing, the dominating sound would go off completely for a few seconds, and then come right back on.

Just thought you'd like to know.

Maybe increase engine sound volume in workshop settings.

As far as I know nothing was changed with engine sounds, but maybe it reset the sound settings in workshop for you.

Did not think of that as I had never touched it before. I see that my 4 settings were for (from top to bottom w/engine first) 40%,100,100,100. I chose realistic and it changed it to 60%, 100,100,100. Curiously (and I have not flown yet) is this the settings that the workshop was set to when I initially downloaded WOTR? Is User I/F stand for User Interface?

My first flight with the new patch 1.4 and, yeah, weird new sound in the game. Pretty sure it is the other planes ... a loud annoying humming throb that wasn't there before. Will see if it repeats on subsequent missions. If so i will take a video clip.

That is indeed what it is, but it occurs without any planes being close enough to warrant it.

Yes, same here. It was there again in my second campaign mission as soon as the AI planes started up on the runway.
I am using 5.1 Surround headphones. Wonder if that is why I hear it and others (like Polovski) don't? (side or rear channel??). Will try to track it down.

Something does sound different to me too, I haven't done more than a couple of missions since the update, but there was a noticeable ' second' noise for me too. I use surround headphones too. If I notice anything of use I'll post it here. (I use ambient sound setting by the way)

Headphone user myself,yeah I've noticed something different,cannot pinpoint what's changed but it seems something may have since the last patch.

The video doesn't quite do the noise justice. It is very loud in-game on my system and a very noticeable change from pre-patch.

Pretty sure the sound is related to the other planes in your flight. Perhaps engine sounds not properly scaled to their distance away from you, hence always full-blast?

I lost the rest of my flight during a fight and the sound clearly kicked in when I found them back at base.

I also get some odd mechanical clanking sounds very infrequently, like gear locking into place, or some may have been an explosion. I actually break sometimes as I thought I was under attack. Mabe these are also sounds from other (far away) aircraft.

OK this is fixed in V1.5 out now, was due to the new AP aircraft for AI flight skins.
Hopefully we can now take a break..
