Here's a video that shows startup, pilot creation, some of the quick mission options and a campaign mission and UI overview if you are interested...

The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...

Rick_Rawlings: Thanks for posting this video - great little preview of the sim. Man that's a great soundtrack! I've had this on repeat just to listen to it a few more times!

Cheers!

I've always felt that OBD had the true successor to the Red Baron series based on the strength of the campaign and I am feeling that again here... Looking forward to where they take this ! salute

Rick_Rawlings: Was just playing through European Air War earlier today and thought the same thing. EAW's campaigns made that game for me - starting with the Battle of Britain and then the European Campaigns of 43 and 44. I could imagine OBD doing a similar approach here with BoB as phase 1 and then a strategic bombing campaign for the next in the series. After flying around in EAW for the first time in probably close to a decade and then watching the videos from WoTR, it sure feels like a European Air War 2.

I hope it works out that way. I really wanted Rowan's Battle of Britain to take off for me, but turns out I have no head for squadron management. I just want to jump in a plane and shoot at stuff and make it through the war (although almost certainly not!)

Wow, not much news I guess! If you are still on the fence about this, it should be noted that OBD has released several patches already to address customer issues on things like making the 109 default to auto mixture, adjusting the boost on the Hurricane engine, changing the way ground collisions work and so on. Pol and WindingMan can often acerbic in their communications, sometimes to their detriment, I feel, but they are aslo as likely as not to have a shiny new patch for you when you wake up that addresses the concern...

I bought it, even though I can't run it yet. I retire April 1st, and I plan on upgrading my PC at that time. I plan to jump right into this sim. It appeals to me as I prefer offline play, but I want a strong campaign.
