Load times are significantly quicker with the latest update

I like the new label system as in the dots below, each bomb once released gets it's own dot. It's rather subtle but seems effective. It was cool to watch as bombs fell away from my aircraft with no lettering and track them to the ground

This pic reminds me of a round of golf I had at the Carberry Golf Club in the 90s

We were on the eighth hole when I looked up and there were two CF 18s flying at tree top level. They made three passes at low altitude and it was amazing to watch. I believe the Canadians and Germans were conducting training exercises. CFB Shilo at the time had a German Army Training Establishment ('74 to 2000ish) and military land bordered the golf course

Fantastic shots by the way, love this thread.

I know, eh? I used to walk away from my computer while it loaded smile

Yes this sim provides many photo opportunities, that's for sure. Hard to focus on mission goals lol biggrin

My favorite era for military aircraft. The B 17 is a real beauty

Nice look at the defensive weapons on the B 17. I like how the ball turret stands out in this pic

Gave one of the Hornet missions that came with the update a go. Nice easy mission. Long load times back in effect

A command post is the target at waypoint 3

[Linked Image]

Setting up my HSI for waypoint navigation; sequence and auto enabled

Ready to go

[Linked Image]

take off

[Linked Image]

Enroute

[Linked Image]

Cross hairs on target. It took several passes to identify the target. The HSI helped confirm the target

[Linked Image]

Release! It appears surface to air threats have been taken care of given the black plumes of smoke

[Linked Image]

Target destroyed!

Returning to base
This is when things get really interesting

[Linked Image]

Coming in

[Linked Image]

As I ham-fist my way out of my failed landing attempt I get two warnings, landing gear down and low fuel

[Linked Image]

Second attempt; fuel is a concern

[Linked Image]

Miss!

[Linked Image]

My third and what appears to be my final attempt given my fuel

[Linked Image]

Hard landing with some damage on my third attempt. Wow! That was quite the ride

Nice shots bisher. I especially like the carrier takeoff and landing shots. There must have been some anxiety knowing you were on a third landing attempt. I probably would have missed them all and would have needed a helicopter ride back to the ship.

The Hawkeye screenshot is gorgeous. Darkening blue background, puffy cloud, reflected light beneath the surface of the wing and radar dome. I just love naval aviation. Another great shot.

Flying the Huey. I like this pic as I have seen the underside of the Bell 204, from this altitude, quite a bit while I worked for an oil exploration company. The 204 would roll out tv antenna wire from a large spool that sat by the opening of the side door. I was on the ground splicing the wire together.
