is there a way to have my defaul cockpit view 1 click back? I have to adjust it every time.......default feels like my nose is on the dash and 2 clicks back is comical? Thx

Hehe! I go full back. They said you should never go full back but I feel like I have more peripheral vision in real life than I do even with two clicks back. But I hear ya! I have no idea how people maintain any kind of situational awareness in the default view!

The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...

Try this:
- open viewui.xml file in text editor and locate following sentence (usually third line):
Quote
<VirtualCockpitView FovScale="1.0" ...

and change it as follows (for one click zoom out/back):
Quote
<VirtualCockpitView FovScale="0.9" ...

Then Save and test your new viewpoint settings in WOTR.

Rick....me neither.....but I'm convinced on some insecure level that this has been handled already...the devs are no fools.....perhaps in that incomprehensible POV square of the workshop. I recall there was some guy (Olham??...where is he?) who went to considerable legths in early OFF to deal with this. I'll no doubt be pilloried for not understanding....but if my flaming corpse sheds some light on this seeming enigma.....perhaps my unattractive remains will move the bar forward for "those of us who aren't quite with it".....but whose enduring enthusiasm continues to breath life into things. Love our WOFF/WOTR team....have patience with us...we were there when you were born.

Looks like JJJ has beamed in already........thank you!

I am not sure now. Maybe it must be set to "1.1" for zoom out. Just try it.

JJJ......nope....your 0.9 was the magic bullet....going to woff to do the same.

Rick......feel your pain...but I'm slowly trying to get to "real". Read the last book recomendations from kentcol.....about Hurri pilots....and what it looked like, felt like. Think the devs have done a pretty awesome job of putting us there if we throw our crutches away. Keep the faith......

JJJ......works WOFF as well....thank you!!! Next wish is "level auto pilot" for WOTR....if the devs'll countenance it. As a 109 over England...have had to skulk home low on gas and would wish for something auto to deal with it while I go feed the dogs. Real life intervening again!!! But the game is pretty perfect.....Jasta XX couldn't feed the dogs....so why should we???

For WOFF I have created multimod, so this setting is much easier + another bunch of mods and customisations:
