Twice, even as a Pilot Officer with only a few missions under my belt, I was made the Flight Leader of a 2 different missions (in 2 different campaigns btw).

In both missions, all was good UNTIL reaching the first waypoint of a multi-waypoint mission (where I also had to patrol, say over a convoy for example, for 20 min). Upon reaching the 1st waypoint, the TAC shows me next waypoint is back home and the instructor says "Circle Home Field". All the wingmen immediately turn towards home field and leave. A Rejoin command simply returns a message that other flight members are not available and are heading home, etc.

I thought you would like to know this.

I have experienced the same. Strange, because no enemy were present at this time so no reason to abandon preplaned mission.

This could explain why I get the 'already landing' message when I tell them to attack.

No idea why that would be. When that happens in campaign, quit then send your logs please and the mission (as per last 2 pages of the FAQ).

Just sent in a zipped log folder with files to illustrate this issue (to OBD support as requested). Lost a flight leader and now I have been chosen for several missions as the Flight Leader and experiencing similar issue as above. In the last mission I just flew (which was not the one I sent zip files in on, was 1 or previous to this last one), I was flight leader, had 4 wingmen again, I did an Air Start Over filed (just to try something different), got to first waypoint and it briefly (as before) flashed the next waypoint line on TAC and immediately went last waypoint at home field (again, as before). What was unusual this time was that when I issued a rejoin command (which usually met with a displayed message that" no flight members are left" as wingmen turn to head to home field), this time they stuck around with a "we're already formed up" response (or something like that). I flew some of the waypoints of the normal mission with them using the map to navigate since the waypoint line was to the home field. This lasted for about 10-15 min before they split off as the Instructor told me to "circle the field" although I was no where near the home field. I should note that every time I try to get the Previous Waypoint, the display says there are no previous waypoints available.

We believe this is due to a waypoints issue should be fixed in the next patch (2 weeks!)

I have upgraded and due to a promotion have been made flight leader a few more times. No issues until this last mission when I reached the patrol area and had finished the first leg in the patrol area, I had just engaged autopilot and when I reached next waypoint, it did what had been done previously where it basically advanced to the waypoint for returning to base. I tried to bring back the previous waypoints but it does not allow me to do that (always says "previous waypoint not available"). The Flight, however, did stay with me as I just navigated to the various patrol points via map and compass. Possibly the some of the patrol waypoints are still too close together? BTW, I have tried the using the "previous waypoint" key before and always seem to get that same prompt mentioned before. Possibly some issue there, I do not know. If you want me to send in log files let me know. Thank you.

As long as the main issue is fixed that's fine. I'm not sure the previous waypoint has ever been used much.
