My Gascon ace, Dax "l'Homme Protectif" Bonassie, has shot down Herman Goering over Allied lines. His ID line went black, indicating that he was dead!

How will history change?

Will the Nazis be less likely to come to power?

Or, with someone else leading the Luftwaffe in 1940, with the Germans win the Battle of Britain?

Historical Aces (HA) only die when they actually died historically, otherwise you only shot them down at that moment.

A discussion was held a couple of weeks ago on the forum and OBD explained that if the HA's were killed to early, the game would start running out of pilots, so they only die when they are suppose to die.

The second thing is OBD said a long time ago, that this game is not designed to change history, but to see how long you can survive in the WW1 skies like a real pilot did back then.

Maybe Udet. With him, they may have won the BoB. I don't think Udet was as great in his own mind as Goring thought he was. We'll never know.

I know he was resurrected, and I understand why. In one career I killed a German ace four times. I was thinking in RL, not game terms.

There is a book about that exact subject. Luftwaffe Victorious by Mike Spick.

"Take the cylinder out of my kidneys,
The connecting rod out of my brain, my brain,
From out of my arse take the camshaft,
And assemble the engine again."

Fat Herman, while certainly a capable pilot in WWI, seems to have turned into some sort of megalomaniac in WWII. He was a legend in his own mind!
