Thanks for the rakuten gen Polovski! Saved me having to wait until mid October for Amazon d/l.
However.....
........good to see the Hurricane featured in a movie rather than it's more glamorous fellow defender of our skies, but that is the only redeeming feature of this disappointingly plodding excursion. Too much emphasis on the unruliness of these men who helped save our bacon in 1940 and the conquering of 'easy' WAAFs rather than conquering the Hun.
Interesting that the actor who played new boy 'Simon' ("How many hours have you done in spits, Simon?" "On spits, sir? Ten and a half." "We'll make it eleven before Jerry has you for breakfast.") in the 1969 film plays Dowding in this offering. And well, but the actor portraying Park looks distractingly like Leigh-Mallory.
I know that compared to Hollywood productions the budget was tiny, but the aerial battles would have been more realistic if they had been reproduced in IL2!
And calling 'RDF' Radar made me take a sharp intake of breath. (Same mistake was made in the 1969 film too)
Though to my mind, not nearly as well done as the BBC 'Bloody Foreigners' version of the vital contribution of Polish airmen in the Battle of Britain, still worth the £5.99 to view on such sites as
https://uk.rakuten.tv/ though I would have been miffed if I had to make the effort to view it at the cinema, what with the price of popcorn today.
