I was wondering if there are any random, or maybe emergency events that lead to changes in mission objective that can happen in patrol missions.

I figure there wouldn't be random surprises for the allies because of radar, but the patrol missions seem so far to only have encounters at the patrol point. Also I've never encountered other activity other than the odd 109 who tails me home.

The patrols are usually when no major raid has been detected, so likely you will see less aircraft - maybe very occasionally a raid may come in when you are already up. Even with activity labels on you may not see all activity due to distance, cloud cover etc.
