In day 2 of the campaign, can't load extra fuel, so I can't fly any long mission any longer. I must mention that I have added a Mirage 2000C squadron to this airbase that already had 3 squadron. So my question is, are airbase only allowed a certain amount of kerosene during a campaign? I was using Mission Commander to add the squadron

Thanks, Marc..

What do you mean, you cannot add drop tanks?

What about AAR?

No, now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!

OK, the tank issue is linked to supply, does the supply show 'Out'?. You should get a re-supply. Check your squadron and it should show a resupply time. I expect you'll get more then. On day two it isn't a matter of supply being affected by enemy action, it's just that you only had so many at campaign start, and I suspect the additional squadron put a strain on reserves, particularly so if most are being dropped on missions. Of course using Mission Commander may introduce other less obvious issues.

As to the tanker issue..... frag one up!

No problem, hope it helps.

Have you manually fragged any missions in F4? You could add a tanker to your mission, or just station one along your route. You can give it very long vulnerability time so it''s there both outbound and inbound, provided it isn't shot down. You can also choose to divert either outbound or inbound if your route allows. You can hot-pit refuel at any Blue airbase.

What is fragged? As for AAR still learning the ropes with the Mirage, so kind of avoiding it for now. I'm slowly getting back into BMS, so much to learn, now I mainly do barcap and escort, I love that sim, wasted so much time with the other one

Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you liked them.

Fragging is just the term I use for creating a mission, or part of a mission. The list of missions is the frag order, and adding to it is just called fragging. So if you create a mission to send a tanker aloft, you fragged a tanker.

Mission fragging is one of the beautiful things in this campaign. We have the tanker example here. As long as airframes are available, you can assign one at any time. You can give it HAVCAP or escort, and station it anywhere within it's range (also factoring in station time) You can add escort or sweeps or SEAD escort or anything really to your own missions, not to mention just fragging your own missions outright so you aren't limited to what the ATO is creating.

For instance let's say you've taken a strike mission that's fairly deep. While waiting for your step time you see the target area is heavily patrolled by menacing Red fighters. You can send up a sweep to proceed your arrival for instance, or assign a BARCAP to clear your six as you fence out with those gomers in hot pursuit. Or if you expect heavy air defenses, you could attach a SEAD escort or assign SEAD strikes to proceed you.

Not every player will want to get involved in mission tasking, but the possibilities are vast, and in almost all cases will improve Blue's chances of success.

This post covers some of the basics of creating your own missions, for anyone who might be interested in giving it a go.

Thanks piper, I'd like it to be pinned, but at the same time don't want to seem too eager to toot my own horn. The stickies in this forum are mostly way out of date. It's like having a nice house and not painting the shutters or weeding the flower beds. It could use some attention in my estimation.
