Spectral Netflix original, or they bought it. Part Aliens, part The Darkest Hour, part Final Fantasy the Spirits Within...maybe even some World War Z and a few borrowed bits from Blackhawk Down. LOL Really good cast and budget. The writing is pretty good for what it is, even if not terribly original. Still, it’s fun with good tension and action. The cast is what pulls it off. Highly recommended if you like movies like that.
Others in this class you might not know of, but are on tv from time to time: Mutant Chronicles...alternate timeline, WWI-ish, steam punk, Gears of War influence? Thomas Jane, Sean Pertwee, Tom Wu...naturally it has Ron Perlman...and some Malkovich, so it has a good cast. Nikopol...weird. Based on a French graphic novel I think. Scifi with Egyptian mythology and a cool but weird live action/cgi mixture. Some recognizable cast members, the main guy shows up in a lot of movies these days.

A few more to add: Extinction...I won’t say what it was like so as to not ruin it. Stick with it. Watched this one tonight. You’ll think it’s one thing familiar, then it turns into something else.
Mute...just an original story, great cast.
Both on Netflix
Supernova...not a blockbuster, but cool to see James Spader play something totally different for him. Good cast.

"Flawless" isn't a B movie, but few people know it, and to me it's the best made non-violent heist movies ever. Great cast too, great acting, flawless direction. The sudden 90° turn that the story makes is actually announced well in advance if you can read camera work/film language.
Spanish "Dagon" is probably the most accurate modern rendition of Lovecraft's "The Shadow over Innsmouth". Definitely schlock, though.
Korean "The Good, The Bad, and The Weird" is a "Spaghetti Western" set in Japanese occupied Manchuria. Switch off your brains and enjoy (some people seem to have trouble with Asian overacting; if you can't tolerate that, skip this one.)
"Interstate 60" is the most famous film that you never heard of. An absolute A-line cast, a crazy story, a road-movie with memorable episodes - I have no explanation why this film bombed at the box office. Maybe it ran against to too many expectations.
Not a B movie and not really a 'forgotten gem', but still The Perfect Film for a Halloween party: "Tucker and Dale vs. Evil". You won't regret this one. Hilarious.

Tucker and Dale is hilarious! Can't go wrong with Alan Tudyk in a movie.

I really liked Spectral, and Extinction was good as well. “Terminus” is another one I saw which I thought was interesting.

Turbo Kid is a good fun film. Plus it has Michael Ironside in it.
