Hello All:

For sim INPUT, I'm currently using three Desktop Aviator USB boards to control P3D via a few panels that I have built, and they work very well.

These INPUT boards allow me to assign toggles, push buttons and potentiometers without issue.

I have a requirements for warning lights on my home cockpit build:

~ Low Fuel
~ OMI Lights
~ Alternator Failure
~ Others?

Assuming that these values are available from FSUIPC and / or LUA script, what USB board(s) are folks using to accept OUTPUT from sim, so I can conditionally illuminate my warning lights?

I've not been successful in my internet searches for such a card.

Thanks!
Chris

HI Chris,

I think the problem is not what board to use, but how to get the data to do something.

In my pit I used Opencockpits interface boards for input and output. They developed a package called "SIOC" which is free from their site. That allows you to pass data in to variables and then perform if - then operations on them.

Their master board has lots on inputs and outputs on it and even comes as a kit if you are OK soldering (makes it a bit cheaper).

Their full range of cards is here:

Cheers,

Andy

Thank you for the reply Andy.

I recently spoke with the guy that owns Javiatorsim who produces a full lineup of sim avionics and a turnkey 172 panel.

He did confirm that the values I am looking to get out of the sim are available via Simconnect (and possibly Link2FS).

I'll check the offerings from opencockpits.com
