Hi General, welcome to the fray. Regarding the claims process in relation to your reported "lawn dart" scenario. There are vagaries built into the claims process to simulate real life. For example ground fire from your aerodrome may have taken that claim from you. The last known shooter responsible for hitting the enemy aircraft will usually get the claim regardless whether the enemy pilot was dead from your guns onslaught.
If you want easy claims just go into workshop and adjust the claims settings
Just saying...

AAAHHH yes said the blind man, now I see. That "Damn Australian" stole my claim!!! LMAO. Now that makes scene, I understand that. Thank You my Good Fellow. No, I like that setting the way it is, I was just trying to get a handle on it and try to understand what in the world I was doing wrong, especially when it says "no one witnessed it" and my wing man was close by. I just read your report LH, That's some mighty fine writing you got there!! I like it and i will use it.Thanks.

On the second page ("More Settings") of the Workshops page in the game, there is a Claims Settings section, with the buttons "Normal", "Easier", and "Easiest". I assumed "Easiest" made claim confirmation almost automatic, but I don't know as I want it to be harder for myself. You might give that a try, and see what happens.
Some people are born stupid. I've had to work hard my whole life to get this way. I'm proud of the job I've done

err yes... been a long time since post made.
"Easy" Claim setting. You still have to fill it out correctly. For the Britts, a probable would be filled in with "single seater" or "double seater" aircraft.
I keep my own tally, paperwork, for RFC shared kills. When the total reaches "1" then next fight with shared kill I would claim it for myself. It takes a bit of thinking, and honesty, but it seems to work.
