It's Black ABS Plastic (1/8") with a grain finish.

They are pre-molded to fit the seat correctly.

I still have several to sell.

The Seat Bottom and Back Molded from Black ABS are 79.95 plus shipping.

Thanks and let me know if I can help.

Hi Guys,

I wanted to post some pictures from the Assembly of the F-16 Cockpit to show how easy it is.

This first post is of the Center Tub for the Cockpit.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Here are the last pictures to finish up the Center Tub.

This section is the Aces II Seat Support

I designed the Seat Support to be a Ported Sub-Woofer Enclosure. With a couple of good subs and some midrange speakers up high, it provides an incredible sound experience. You'll really FEEL the Afterburner and Gatling Gun. You'll love it!

Enjoy

Hi Guys,

Here is the Assembly of the Left Outer Cockpit section.

The Right is the same, just reversed.

Easy Cheesy

The Left and Ride Sides start with the Rib Assemblies.

[Linked Image]

Screwing a Side Support to each side of the Ribs in the Middle. The 2 End Rib stations only have Side Supports on the "INSIDE", as shown below.

[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Once the Rib Assemblies are complete. Then Add in the Largest Rib Station in the Back. Work from Back to Front. This will keep the Ribs Tight and Square,

[Linked Image]

Make sure the 2 END Rib stations are FLUSH like below.

[Linked Image]

Then you can attached the "In between" Square Rib Supports and the Vertical Top Rib Supports as shown.

[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Again, make sure the 2 End Rib Stations are FLUSH as shown below.

[Linked Image]

Now you're ready to add the Outside Rib Lower Support. The "F-!6" cut out can be in the Frint or Back, your choice.

[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Add on the Top Canopy Rail and your Left Side is Done!
[Linked Image]

Repeat the procedure for the Right Side and your F-16 Center Tub and Outside Rib Stations are finished. The only thing left to do is cover them. I suggest covering them LAST, as, without the Skin, it's easy to access the Switches and Wiring.

Also, I have been asked about all the Supports...if they are needed. When I designed the Tub and Outside Station Supports, I wanted it strong enough for you to climb in the cockpit over the Canopy Sills. This is why the extra supports are in place, to help bear the weight and lock the loads straight down to the floor. Heck, I can stand on the Canopy Sills and they hold me up, and I'm 200 lbs!

I build the Cockpit from 3/4" MFD as its nice and flat, doesn't warp and super cheap compared to Plywood. You have to keep it dry and pre-drill all the holes. The choice is up to you though and you can use Plywood if you like.

The next section is assembling the Aces II Seat Kit!

It will be Easy Cheesy too

Stay Tuned

Making the Cockpit in 3 Individual Sections makes it much easier to move and to work on an individual section.

Here are some pictures of bringing all 3 sections together and completing the F-16 Tub.

Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Guys,

I wanted to share the assembly instructions (pics) of the Aces II Ejection Seat.

I have 2 Aces II Seat Backs and Bottoms in Black ABS for sale. If you're interested, send me a PM because when they're gone...they're gone.

Hello Stang!

Do you have actual pics of how everything fits together?
Does this at least include a rough layout of the side console panels?
Would it be possible to have a version where the side ribs do not go to "realistic" height and instead just terminate slightly above or even flush with the side console panels?
What is the thickness of the MDF/plywood used?
Do you have a "instruction manual" that shows how the hip bone is connected to the leg bone, so to speak?
You mentioned CNC, will this be compatible with guys that use laser cutters?
Do you have any provisions for Cougar or Warthog HOTAS placement?

Out of curiosity, are these your own work or based off the Viperpits work?

Really cool stuff, I just might find the time to make this....

Hi, Ice,

I have included build pics in this thread and there are more F-16 Build Pics HERE

The Plans includes the Center Tub, Side Tubs, Aces II Ejection Seat, Small Glare shield, Center Pedestal. MIP, Side Panels, Small Panels (Fuel and Landing Gear), UFC Box and HUD Assembly.

I am providing the CAD files so that anyone can customize them to fit their own needs. I am happy to help with this as time permits.

The Cockpit is mostly 3/4" and the Aces II Seat is mostly 1/2". I use MFD because its flatter does not warp, and is easy to work with as long as you pre-drill your holes. You can use Plywood too, it's just more expensive.

I have a pictorial instruction guide referenced in the pictures above and included in this thread via the 3D Models that depict assembly.

CNC Routers and Lasers both use Polyline Vectors so the CAD file will work for both.

The Cougar or the TQS can easily be placed on the left side console and the Flight Stick on the right with no issues.

These plans are 100% my work. If you compare them to others you will see the difference. The one thing to remember is that Rib Stations must match the original Ribs or the Cockpit wouldn't look like an F-16. So, if someone draws up the Gun Faring Rib Station, it would have the same look and curve that anyone else, who draws up the exact same station does. ...assuming they both used the actual data. The real kudos for this go to General Dynamics for the original design.

I'm happy to help with any other questions.

Very cool indeed. I commute up near Alpharetta weekly. I live south of Atlanta but go up there for work purposes. Do you have a completed pit or one near completion?

Did you have a CNC machine or did you rent time on one? I am already gathering ideas and plan to try an work on it over the winter.

Let me know if/when you have time to give me a short look at this.

Hey Nacman,

I don't keep a cockpit at the house as my space is currently very limited.

When I build one for someone, it's in the garage for a couple weeks depending on my schedule and then out to its new home.

Hy Stang,

Hope you recovered well from your accident,

My son and I want to start a project of building an F-16 flight sim, I really liked yours.

I saw in the forum that you posted the CAD design. Did you
mean the pics or the actual CAD file?

Thx

Tico
