It doesn't matter what it compares to, a true classic is what it is.
So buy some "classic" hardware to run it on.
If you want to relive those "great days" get yourself a '286 and DOS 6.0 or maybe Windows 3.1 and live in the past.
Don't complain when something designed and built what almost 20 years ago no longer runs on your 2018 computer and OS.
Oh yes and well done burning bridges with the only person who may have been able to help you.
