meh... don't see a big graphical difference... I was expecting DCS-like graphics in 2018...

I think it looks nice. How are the FMs and performance?

Like Mr. Hellshade, I too wonder about the FM's and performance. ( besides the immersion ) It seemed to me that all the FM's were close to each other in the old game. For example , a DH 2 and a SE 5. flew almost alike. I guess it made it more playable ? but didnt seem to be correct.

Very nice looking. How is the performance feel? I imagine smooth as silk.

The whole 64bit DirectX11 game engine is being optimized so that should be. I only do notice that my CPU, GPU load is not that constant as with RoF & WoFF, but I think that mainly because my wrong nVidia adjustments and my old Windows10 trying to update because I’m playing FC with internet on.
If players think the AI-circling has being eliminated, I did play 5 QM and it still does do the flat circles :-(
Another point is that I do not see the real improvements on the planes graphics as I would expecting, yep they raised the reflections as the planes are now polished with an Teflon carwax, like all the BoX planes, (just a matter of personal taste, only not mine), but when looking at the planes back, the fuselage from the cockpits rearview is still very fuzzy.
Do your own judgement with this utube findings at [video:google]https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=m7R3vK3JR1I&feature=youtu.be[/video] Keep in your mind the RoF Spad plane graphics are date 2008, while the FC is from 2018. After 10y I would expect something more. But on the other hand we all were thinking WW1 was dead, luckily as it seems to the FC1 digit its not not.

Now I have BoS and BoM, so I can do no any judgement, if you will need an map from another BoX game, when wanting to fly the Dr1 or Spad. Guess until the FC map is not released you will need this BoX map as an extra, for the time being.
Correction: You do not have to wait for the FC1-map, it seems a Russian map has been included in FC1, so if wanting to buy FC1 you can start flying the Dr1 and SPAD! So you do not need to own any BoX series to fly FC1, it is a stand alone game.

ROF seems to hold up it's end pretty well. But, then, it's still a very nice looking game. It's not as though they're taking European Air War and turning it into BOX. I'll probably wind up picking this up in the future, but right now it's missing two of my favorites. The Nieuport 11 and 17.

FC is only slightly better looking than RoF. But it has a future where as RoF there is no more development. It's done and the problem with win10 controllers usbIDs. A problem that is not present in FC.

Im not saying buy in right now. There are only two planes BUT down the road it has potential to be far better than RoF is currently.

If WWI multiplayer is to have a future, currently FC is pretty much the only hope. RoF has reached the end of it's technical and content update road and WOFF UE is a single player only sim. A vastly updated Digital Warfare engine with its 64 bit code and DX11 support is what's needed to move the series forward. That will allow more planes in the sky with less lag. Yes, It's going to start very "bare boned' because there isn't much money to be made in WWI flight sims but if enough hard core people buy it, they will add more planes and other content that will hopefully entice yet more people.

It's a little higher priced than I would have thought, given how little content there will be (no single player campaign at all), but ultimately that's for the market to decide. I genuinely hope it succeeds.

yea, 79 bucks minus discounts for 2 planes is hard to stomach! I got mine for 50 with discounts which is more reasonable.

But then I bought tank crew for 69... im getting ptsd from that purchase... not sure it was worth it lol but at least im supporting them (one of the few places still making simulations)

What they have right now is nowhere near worth 69/79 bucks. The two tanks are cool but it comes with two missions that take less than an hour to do both. The tank controls are not there yet either. You get mouse controls like turrents in RoF and switching between stations causes the turret to 0 itself back to center :\

Its cool but not for that amount of money. I'd only buy it if you just want to support them. Its not worth it for the content and may NEVER be worth that much. Furthermore then only really useful online vehicles have been pulled out. the AAA vehicles will either be their own DLC or be stand alone purchase collector "planes". :/

I am sorry, I thought I posted this thread in the Screen Shot/ Video thread? Seriously guys, it is what it is. Early Access with both Sims. You guys are already talking about stressing that you spent to much money and only got 2 planes or 2 tanks? Common Man, Really??? Both are exactly what 1C advertised them to be, a work in progress. It is real simple, if you are going to buy early access and start B^%+c*ing, don't buy early access, wait for the full release. Is it worth the price for what you get right now? To some it will not be and to some it will be, if you weren't smart enough to figure that out before you made the purchase then I don't see where you have any room to be complaining about not getting your moneys worth.

So to get this straight, you paid 79 bucks(or less in you had promo coeds) for early access to 2 of 10 planes for FC and 0 of 1 promised map, with the possibility of more maps to come. You don't feel like you got your monies worth? WELL, you didn't. It is going to be a year or better before you get your monies worth.

So to get this straight, you paid 69 bucks, with a 10$ early access discount for 2 of 10 tanks for TC and 0 of 1 promised maps, with the possibility of more maps to come. You don't fell like you got your monies worth? WELL. you didn't. It is going to be a year or better before you get your monies worth.

I don't get it? Do some people just have to complain about something to be happy??? Please, enlighten me??

I hope this simplifies it for other people who are contemplating these purchases, but to be fair TC & FC already have QMB use and there are several community made missions for TC out for use now. There are also MP servers for both from what I read(not an MP guy here).
The last thing that I will add to close this post is that I was in the first BOS early access(probably 1 of the first to purchase) and weathered the BOS Debacle and waited to see if 1C would right itself and fix the BOX series. After all of the struggle to get BOX worth using I can honestly say that it is tied to be my #1 go to Combat Flight Sim and I have a lot of Fun with it. After 4 years, and the complete turnaround of BOS, BOM and the addition of BOK , I am ready to help support 1C through these early access offerings, FC & TC, if for no other reason than to help possibly insure the future of the Great Battle Series. IMHO, when FC & TC are finally released I honestly think I will have gotten my monies worth. It just seems to me that it is a little early to be judging either as they are only entering their 3rd week of early access release.
rant-on-off

I implore you, Less Talk, More Screenshots Please!!!

S!Blade<><
