I know I can adjust how much fuel my plane carries at takeoff. But I also know from experience that the most common non-lethal damage I suffer in combat is the fuel leak.

So, the obvious question for the WOFF kanonen is: does carrying less fuel make enough of a maneuverability difference to offset the possibility of suffering a fuel leak?

Thanks.

Each to his own on that one, plus you have 80 aircraft with different flight models to think about, maybe don't think too much and fly wink

In my experience, slow leaks are pretty rare. Typically, when I get a fuel leak it's completely gone quite quickly, regardless of how much is in the tank when it starts.

Yep, the same when you do hear your engine makes a raw sound. Turn as quickly to the friendly line and be prepare for an gliding towards the ground.

All of my fuel leaks seem fast. I try to catch the leak when it starts ( by always checking the gauge ) then climb at full power so I can glide as far as possible.

Fuel leaks are critical hits. Plus we have no gravity tank too.
I have not noticed any diff in the flight/combat etc.

The one thing about reducing fuel is how quickly you start to plan your flight+time+route etc.
And how quickly you dive for the lines when on the wrong side!

For the Brits and thier "Deep Patrols" this can be very unnerving indeed. Once I started reducing fuel loads I never went back to 100% again
