but been an old game i'm a little lost with all the mods out there.

First you need to verify that the original game runs properly on you system.

There are 3 versions of the game engine. Which mod you want to play is dependent upon the game engine version and the theater of operations you wish to play.

The three versions of the game engine are:
PE 1.2
MY's code mod
PE-x

If you are looking for eye candy, do not bother.
