I had kept Groupo " Napoli " Re inforced by Groupo "Maletti " Total 174 effective s deployed in a semi circle on the Left Flank since that was the point of the 1st attack. Instead the Armor Troop ( 90th Cav ?) pivoted and took the River crossing on the right Flank. I dispatched 1 rifle platoon + 2 HMG's and 1 Mortar 45mm section. The rest of the Groupo engaged the main force from the tree line. It was too little ,too late. The Cav Troops took the bridge head. I counter attacked with another Platoon , most squads had only 2 or 3 riflemen and a Lt MG only to run into a Buzz Saw of lead spitting MG's from Haft Tracks. We retreated towards the next line . Our ammo is low maybe 100 rds per man left Lossses: 64 Inf KIA 42 wnd 3 missing. Mortar 45mm Out of ammo. 1 Lt MG destroyed + 1 HMG Broken + 106 6.5mm rifles .
