France vs belgium and england vs croatia could both be very close, this will be interesting to watch. Of course I wish France will make it, but belgians played beautifully vs brazil and it's really comforting that one of those two will be on final, whatever the odds. What a year for WC !

I hope the WC championship game is between England and France.

It can be called “Waterloo version 2.0”.

Still one to go... won 98, lost 2006, hopefully we'll win this 2018 edition.

Happy celebration Johan, and congrats to belgium for a splendid tournament.

I confess I barely knew most french players before the WC, and only two belgians (hazard and courtois), but both teams ( special mention to de bruyn on the belgian side) were displaying such skill, enthousiasm and teamplay that it got me hooked again, when the likes of neymar's comedy acts had made me quite indifferent for years.

I hope France will make both you and I proud by winning the WC (and that won't be a walk in the park, I'm afraid). cheers

Actually I thought De Bruyne (who happens to be from my own home town) was having a bit of an off-day yesterday - not to diminish his achievements, it can happen to anyone. Personally I would have liked to see a more open game with more movement on both sides. This was a pretty much a game of chess and France had the more intelligent strategy...

Les bleus will wipe the floor with England wink If it turns out to be Croatia, then forgive me for cheering for them - I think those chequered jerseys look mighty cool smile

Their checkered jerseys remind of a pet food company > Purina.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

The Purina symbol also looks like the rank insignia for Rebel officers in the original Star Wars movies.

Congrats to France, deservedly through to the final. Going in to the match I thought it could go either way, expecting 2-2 at full time and then anyone's guess. Two strong teams, and once you get to extras you never know. But I was quite surprised that France held out for the clean sheet. They were able to stifle Belgium, winning the midfield battle and checking Belgium's fluidity. Lukaku had virtually no service, he barely seemed to get a touch. They were left to beat their man, and though they have some players that can do that( De Bruyne, Hazard), there was always a second and third man there to block the path to goal.

Chadli had some success early on, but he isn't a wingback, and has neither the pace, flair or trickery required once France started closing him down. Meunier's suspension forced the move I suppose, but the side looked imbalanced as a result. Still, it was only a set piece that separated the two teams, and though I was expecting an equalizer it just never came. France won the tactical battle and the match. Kante was everywhere, snuffing out attacks. And Lloris is on his game. Belgium were the team I fancied to advance and win it all. But Deschamps is no Domenech and he got it right yesterday.

No, now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!
