Hello, all

Since Stang is MIA since 12/2017 I wonder if anyone has his instrument panel CAD files for the P-51D that show the panel cut-outs for all the instruments. Or If you have some of your own? I sent him a PM but no response, and he hasn't posted here since Christmastime that I can see. I will pay you whatever you think is reasonable by PayPal immediately!

Thanks,

--Patrick

Send me a PM with the MiP model you're looking for, and I'll see if I can help.

Sorry for MiA. I was in a bad car accident and have gone through 4 of 5 needed surgeries to repair damage. Its a long road back.

Which MiP panel are you looking for, as the "D" model had several installed in it?

Are any of the images below what you're looking for?

Piepermd....If i may suggest Ruscool Electronics out of New Zealand makes some excellent bezels for the P-51 MIP. I recently purchased all of them for a very reasonable price, completely assembled, painted and with encoders installed on those instruments that require it. Combined with Stangs excellent drawings you can have a first class MIP!

I have quite a few drawings, what are you missing or needing. Im needing a throttle for my build and Im interested in helping in any way possible to make a P-51 throttle a reality and available for others that are building pits.

IF you're trying to replicate the Throttle Quadrant Assembly accurately, you will also need a couple of other drawings.

Some of the drawing below, are superseded by the next drawing however, these drawings are in such bad shape, and some are close to unreadable, that having extra (earlier / later) drawings, allows you to get info from one drawing, that's unreadable in another. Most of these drawing changed very little as they went through revision changes. Typically, they only changed small items, as the weight, sizing and mounting requirements, stayed the same for the designers. Otherwise you have to build a completely new / modified airframe...such as the P-51K

All of these are available on AirCorps Library. https://aircorpslibrary.com/

$5.00 a month is pretty cheap to access any drawings you need. They do allow you to quit your monthly membership at anytime as well.

Hope this helps.

Yeah....I'm a member of Air Corp Library, they have a lot of great reference material and such. Ive been searching high and low for an affordable throttle or even whatever parts I can get my hands on but it just isn't there. There's a P-51 Throttle on Ebay right now for $2100.00 and that's way too steep for my blood. I talked to several warbird parts sellers and even a company that does reproduction P-51 throttles but still too expensive so it looks like I'm gonna be building one myself. I believe I have all the drawings necessary to build one just have to figure out how to have a few parts made. Oh well...who said this wouldn't be fun? The fella from the DCS forums did finish his throttle and there was a video on YouTube on it but he didn't seem to be able to manufacture them for sale and has since gone dark. Too bad, he had a nice setup. He did post a lot of pics in his post on the forum so that's another reference.
I have a lot of this drawn out already just need to refine and start looking for some work arounds, Yankee ingenuity or redneck tech, whatever works!

Its a B/C model on eBay and doesn't appear to include the mounting flange.

...correction

It has the Longeron mounting flange
