1C have opened a new room on their forum for Flying Circus.

Seems pre-order and early access are not that far away

Cant wait.

It seems like it is going to have the same bias as RoF had which is sad. I mean they give the Allies the F2b and stuff the Cl2 down the CP throats. If the online game play revolves around bombing things like most of the online missions in RoF did then the CPs are screwed.

They should either replace the F2b with a earlier less payload 2 seater or give the CPs the DFW in addition to the CL2.

Also no mention of the DVIIf but the Allies get the Camel and Dolphin. The CP do get the DR1 but the Pfalz diii is under matched with every Allied plane. Especially if they put the neutered version from the last major balance patch from RoF.

They will probably have "bonus" planes though which MIGHT balance out the planeset but we dont know what they are yet.

With all of that said (too much winge'ing) I am very very very very VERY excited to play the new Flying Circus! Day one preorder for me!

I complain because I care! Hated a lot of the #%&*$# they pulled in RoF but RoF is such a good wwi sim!

I also really hope that they do a few ground vehicles. Just a simple flatbed truck with a mounted machine gun would be fine. Just something you can defend the online airfields with so that people dont vulch as much. I always loved just parking a 2 seater at a friendly field and watching planes come and go.

I do only hope they will keep the focus to what is important and not drive the whole project to minor aspects.
Another point of attention, is that external company who will do the redesign, as the last Rof planes were also made by externals and the results were sometimes not that perfect as they use to be. Worser is I think that these were never been corrected after releasing.

But still think it is great to see some movement on the WW1 front as we all were afraid this was stopped.

+1

I also had come to think ROF was going to be the last sim for us. So to see FC being developed is a massive bonus IMO.

Planes look great, may get me interested in a flight sim again after a long absence. More interested in single player than online these days with flight sims so as long as we can make our own or download others, all good:)

I notice that BoX had FM updates/tweeks that they have taught their AI (AI software, not AI players) to "learn" and improve and then pushed those through as updates. I suspect that once RoF is migrated over to the BoX engine, at some point the FC community will be able to look forward to similar FM tweeks, finally correcting the "sins of the fathers". So there is hope indeed for WWI flight simming!

I wasn’t aware of any AI “learning” update to BoX. Could you please give link or further explanation?

I dont think you are going to see historic flight models that are real and fair. It's still a russian company and they have gone out of their way in the past to punish german planes.

Hell the dr1 still has max speed of 160 km/h at sea level (in game) vs a very documented and reproduced 185 km/h at sea level.

Their reason for the 160? top secret post war russian test figured on a captured dr1. But the figures are too top secret to make public...

:/

If you think you will get fair FMs you shouldnt even buy into the beta. Just walk away now.

But it's very pretty and IMO the best WWI flight sim out there (RoF) and this port to the new engine will just make it better. I wish them all the luck and Ill go all in and silently frown about the russian inconsistencies. It is what it is.

About the AI I still notice the circling AI Spitfire while I was flying the Dr1, think that is an wrong decision not to improve this.
Also the same fuzzy looking fuselage, when looking from the cockpit to the planes tail, so no 4k skins.

Hi, downloaded FC and it worked first time but no longer, all I keep getting are various messages, see pics. I am using it as administrator, not sure what is going wrong, anyone else met these problems? J.

Looks like the your connection to the master to download the latest update is at fault.

First 2 screens show connection issues connecting to the master.
Second 2 are only messages that IL2 is already running. It probably failed to close down properly and your PC was seeing it as already running.

How is it now, is it still failing to update?

Also to check to see if the game will navigate to the IL2 folder and run the game directly

...\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Moscow\bin\game\IL2.exe

Log in offline and see if you can run the game

HI, I've tried logging in offline which is where the pic of need to update came from, still failing to update. Still failing to do anything, I'll try again in the morning, J.

No joy, turned off my security and still nothing, just keep getting the same things coming up. The only thing that I think happened is there may have been a Win10 update after I installed and I must say that since I went over to 10 I've had a lot of progs that take a while to get going, not responding. I've just tried to launch my steam copy and it works well. It asked me if I wanted to link accounts but when I tried I just got the same old message about being unable to connect. Maybe I ought to uninstall and reinstall?

Every time I start BoS I get that fail to connect problem. Sometimes it takes 2-3 times clicking the connect button before it will connect.

Just the Fokker Dr1, on the usual skins download page at the main site... the Spad template is not available for skinning yet.
You do realise that all your RoF skins will work on the FC aeroplanes...
