Not seen this before. Footage of the aerial test attacks on German capital ships and other obselete vessels by the US just after ww1. Some great close ups of the some of the damage these bombs inflicted on a capital ship.
Also interesting is around the 7min mark - a plane laid smokescreeen. I never knew such a thing existed and have to wonder why it was not developed further or used more often as it looks pretty effective.
Good point - the weather at sea can be changeble at best. And I guess even a heavy bomber is not going to be able to match a destroyer when it comes to pure volume of smoke. Still, quite an interesting idea.
