I have been trying the "Inverted Pointers Scheme" in my Win 7 system and I suspect it is causing a problem as described below:
During a mission, my keyboard input seems to timeout and none of the keys respond to input. If I move my mouse over the screen and click on it, my keyboard comes back. After considerable effort trying to isolate the problem from background running apps, I decided to fall back to the default pointer scheme and immediately noticed no timeouts during my mission.
I have only flown one mission so I need to verify this issue by flying more.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I have been using the Windows Inverted Pointer Scheme for years on my Win 7, Win 8.1 and Win 10 and never had the problems you are describing on any of my WOFF games.

Tnx Panama.
Seems like I haven't yet found the problem.

As complicated as all the software we use on modern computers, some times things just get "trampled on" and do not work until you fix them.
I have had other Windows problems over the years and some times the only fix is a new Windows install (yuck !!!!!), unless you have a Windows back up from before you noticed the problem.

Maybe you have Power saving in either BIOS or Windows power settings, that allows USB to be turned off to save power. Look through and disable. Hi Pol, sorry for being so late responding to your suggestion. I had already thought of that but I don't have power saving mode on. I suspect it is some program stealing focus from my keyboard. The funny thing is that "CTRL+ALT+Del" keys always work but pretty much all the others stop. This only happens when running WOFF. I get keyboard control back by clicking my mouse on the WOFF screen. It's not an immersion killer, just a pain in the ass. Hopefully I will find the culprit and deal with it. Best Regards;

Robert, any chance you are running WOFF in full screen windowed mode (don't know if that's even possible) and simply losing the keyboard focus to the background? Just a guess. A shot in the dark.

Robert, any chance you are running WOFF in full screen windowed mode (don't know if that's even possible) and simply losing the keyboard focus to the background? Just a guess. A shot in the dark. The short answer is no I'm not, but thanks for the thought. I think I may have found a work around but I won't know for sure until I get more flying time in. It does look promising though. Here is the link and the procedure I followed; https://community.spiceworks.com/to...dows-window-from-taking-precedence-focus
I believe I found a solution to focus being stolen from keyboard in full screen gaming. Here are the steps I followed:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop Edit UserPreferenceMask value to be 9F 3E 07 80 12 00 00 00 (there are many numbers in here, I only had to update the 9F 3E 07 parts from 9E 1E 07 and the rest of the value remained)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop Edit ActiveWndTrkTimeout, change to 150 in decimal (hex: 96) from (hex: 1f4)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop Edit ForegroundFlashCount, change to something like 7000 in decimal (hex:1B58) from (hex: 7)
and finally, I set this though from what I read it may/likely not do anything in Windows Vista+ (this was the first thing I tried and it didn't work, but I left it):
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop Edit ForegroundLockTimeout to something very large (e.g. 9999999 in decimal) (hex: 98967F) from (hex: 30d40)
Log off and log back in; so far programs that I KNOW steal focus are silently resting in the background now and flashing me on the taskbar, patiently waiting for me... AHHHHHHHH!
