Oooh, that's beautiful. I've long been intrigued by scale soaring, on my list of things to do when I get more free time.

cheers
Gareth

UNDERSTEER - is when you hit the wall with the front wing.
OVERSTEER - is when you hit the wall with the back wing.
HORSEPOWER - is how fast you hit the wall.
TORQUE - is how far you can take the wall with you.

Thanks for the looks and compliments, everyone! We get a tow to altitude then the sailplane can release. My longest pure thermal flight has been an hour and 48 minutes. Not bad for a rag wing with struts and wires! Of all the different types of RC flying I've done scale soaring is the most rewarding. It is difficult to express in words and certainly appears extremely boring to non-participants but when you take a scale model with scale foils and thermal for a spell you get put under that spell!

That is so cool!

Dart- in October there is an RC aerotow sponsored by NARCA, the North Alabama Radio Control Association, which is flown at Epps Field near Huntsville. George Epps, the owner of the full scale field, is a super gentleman and his family has a long air-minded history in Alabama. If you can make time for the event I'll let you fly the Eaglet! It's a big pussycat and great, honest flying sailplane.

I've always admired the guys able to fly remote tow. Myself, I've only done rubber-rope launches (like a winch) and assist-engined sailplanes.

I think towing is easier than winch and hi-start launching so you are ahead of me, there! At least with towing you can release any time you want in case things go pear shaped! You have less options with a hi-start... at least with my limited experience on one.
