Hq was alerted to a possible enemy probe in the next 24 hrs. Intelligence suggested that the 16th or 9th PZG may have elements in an attacking position. I had HQ sections A, and B and all of 1st Platoon and 1 st Battalion 16th Infantry's Recon Section of 8 men. In support the Platoon had 1 Tube 60 mm and 1 4.2 MM Mortar and the AT Gun section with a 57mm . Back up came from the Assault Gun section of 2 M-7's with a 105mm gun and 2 Haft Tracks from the 70th Light Tank Rgt. The enemy attacked over a rolling open field ,but stayed Road bound ( Good targets) The Infanry moved futher afiel on the plain. I had the Mortars fire on the infantry and the guns on the AFV's A field day ! untill the their Arty landed shells on bot of my Infantry Sq's. When all was said and done they Lost 48 KIA 80 missing our captured, 8 SPW 250-1 Haft Tracks , 1 Psw 233 with the short 75 mm gun + 2 250/3 command type Cars. Our losses 2 Haft Tracks, 1 AT Gun, 26 KIA and 12 Wnd. I deployed the infantry in the tree line with the 30 cal MG in the clear on their left further out was the A Guns and Mortar observers

Yes. Its was called Fortress Italy. I dont think that it was the best of the Combat mission series, but it is very playable .
