Isn't that a "she"??
URBANMECH!!! Where/how did you get it? Pics of it in the bay and pics of its loadout please!!
Anyone seen a Raven?
The Urby is not great. It's not good. To be honest it's barely useful. I have 2 Large Lasers and 2 Machine Guns on it. It's slow, has no armor, and overheats a lot. Right now I'm just using as punishment for my scrub pilots; if they missed an AC20 shot or Melee attack, then they have to ride the Urby for the next drop. Which is kind of a downward spiral now that i think about it, and they are likely to get injured or killed in it. But that is life in the inner sphere, adapt or die. Will spare no expense to repair it, no matter how much blood needs to be scrubbed from the cockpit.

Urbies need their own environment where they can shine I really need to find my old TROs to compare armor and weapons loadout but IIRC Urbies were very useful in city combat. It sounds weird saying this, but I prefer the TT and other game's presentation of the Urbie. This version looks like it's been on a diet!
What's the loadout on the Stalker? I only have 1/3rd as it came out in the same mission as when I got the Atlas. I was planning to get it but as soon as the Altas showed itself, priorities shifted

6 energy mounts, 2 are arm pods, 1 on each side torso 4 missile mounts, eat arm pod and side torso
Can't remember what I had on there at the time, but now it's got the usual 4 LL and an SRM6 I think, and a lot of armor.
edit: nope, 4LL and 2 ML, lots of heat sinks. Really good with an alpha and precision strike.
I had to remove a bunch of saved games this morning. Game had slowed to a crawl and load times were through the roof. I just created a temp subfolder and dragged all but the last few saved game files in the subfolder.
Have to turn of Cloud Saves in Steam otherwise it will just repopulate anything you move out of the folder.
Working fine now. Hopefully something to be patched soon.
For some reason I am all about PPC's, AC's and LRM's.
Maybe I am doing it wrong??

I use a lot of LRM's. For assaults I want to keep, if you can just knock them over 3 times you'll have a pristine mech to take after the pilot gets taken out. PPC's are great early on, and still are, but the heat is pretty rough. I still run some though. I'd say this game is far more balanced for using all weapons than MWO is. I've got some of everything going on.
I love the PPC even more in this game as it does stability damage as well!
For most of my mechs, I've gotten them to specialize in a certain weapons range so usually I take out the MGs and SLasers and the like. I love sensor-locking a target and then sniping at it from range.
I have nothing to add aside from that I am having a whole bunch of fun with this!
That's the bottom line. The game is a whole bunch of fun. I catch myself just laughing out loud when some heroic OPFOR comes charging at "us". He get's at least 45 LRM's and then, if I don't really care about the salvage, a AC 20 +++ (+20 damage and +20 stab, just got it) and a SRM 6+++ and watch it blow to pieces.
Good laughs. BUT, also good tactics and terrain use can seriously pay off in this game.
At this point in time, I would like to see it changed to a 6 man lance. For me, it would be one scout, 2 LRM fire support, and 2 killers, two long and medium range and one bad ass brawler. Just my opinion so far.
Still wondering how you guys with all those laser beams do in lunar and martian/desert biomes.
edit: right now I am marking time. I am training up my scrubs. Am out looking for the "1 and 1/2 to two skull" missions so I can train them up. On the 1 and 1/2 skull ones I run a scout, 2 LRM support (one of which is a noob in a almost zero armor ShadowHwk with a LRM 15, LRM 10 and LRM 5 with 4 loads of ammo) and, me in a Highlander with a Gauss, AC 5+++ and , a LRM 15++. 3 scrubs and me and, it can get really hairy on some of those 2 skull missions. edit: almost just now lost both my new scrubs. They lived but in med bay for weeks now.
Am pretty much traveling around hunting for rare weapons till I decide to do the next campaign mission. On the 3 skull missions I run my "regulars", all the original guys and me.
We blow em up REAL GOOD!

I wish there was an option to put missions, especially the story ones, on a timer. This is one issue I have with some video games. The last I remember was Fallout 3 where I was supposedly looking for my father..... but then I had all the time in the world? No. Same thing for BattleTech -- you're fighting a war and working to take back the throne. Travelling between stars alone takes time; dawdling about simply looses the momentum an army would've built up and allows the opposition to gather their forces.
Of course, just IMO and could be a selectable option instead of mandatory
More than ever, I wish there was an ejection animation. Too many dead mechwarriors in this game.
I'm still at the beginning, leveling up before going to get the Argo. The mechanics seems clear and sound, and the game itself seems to have great potential for growth considering the lore and assets available. The inventory\store screens need some creature comforts, but all in all this is the game I hoped for and it's surprisingly engaging.

An overt timer on missions would be too “gamey.” You succeed, fail, or fail but get some of the job done. I like that. Time is a factor on missions where it makes sense, like the ones to take out an escaping convoy, or to get something done because ______ happens in so many turns.
