The 150th Infantry had orders to Hold the line. As Commander Task Force Zepplin, I deployed to slow up a Battalion size attack force. I placed1st Sq Team A in the church and Team B with the Anti Tank gun ( a 50 MM ) in the Tree line. The other Sq's of 1st and second Platoon of 3 rd Company I scattered in the village over looking the valley. My Arty was deployed in the rear was the Motor section from 4th Platoon 1st Co. 11th PZG Rgt. We held as long as possible ,but when we spotted Armor and AFV forces we threw in the towel. Our Retreat was covered by 2 PSW 231's and a PSW 233 from 6th Company 2nd Battalion 11th PZG Rgt. throwing smoke for cover. Losses: 2nd Platoon Infantry + Anti Tank gun , B Team 1st Platoon , Also 1 PSW 231 and 1 Hq section. Both MG 42's.
