Engineering will be cheaper for you. As I read it Grade 5 rolls will use Grade 4 materials. Not bad

I had been thinking about doing some Engineering on my Federal Corvette's armor, could be worth while. Probably worth investing in the Military Grade Bulkheads, if I do go that route. Still, I'm not even sure where I stand, in terms of materials for the task.

This will be great. I have a number of ships waiting for full G5 since I don't have the mats. I don't grind for these things so they are left in various states of incompletion. The bonus weekend (actually 6 days) will enable many of my ships to become closer to fully engineered.

And the extra trade profit will help me raise my trade rank faster.

Are you on Inara? Ice turned me on to the Elite Dangerous Market Connector. If you run this utility when you play, and if you're logged in to Inara, you can view the blueprints for any mod and it will show you which mats and how many you have on hand for the engineering. Really a handy thing. I use the site all the time. I don't remember to start EDMC all the time, but every now and then is fine, especially if you haven't obtained or spent a large chunk of your mat collection.

Yep, I do use Inara for checking my materials/blueprints. Thing was, I was behind of knowing what I had to swap at a Material Trader.

So last night, I did put an hour into the task, found a couple of Material Traders and organized my stuff so I was set for each blueprint costing one level lower.

But apparently I misread or misinterpreted what the Bonus would do. I had presumed a G3 upgrade would cost the G2 recipe, and traded materials for that goal. Instead, each material within a blueprint was reduced to the next lower rarity. So none of my materials work for the blueprints I want.

When the bonus wraps up, I'll be good though.

Trade bonus is pretty nice, makes many of the lower profit stuff much more interesting to haul.

Yeah I saw that. They threw us a bit of a curve on how this works. Makes the targeted farming I've done over the past few days less beneficial, as I may have to go trade them anyway. Whatevs. I'll still engineer the crap outtta everything for the next week
