Very nice, love the lighting! I bought the original Black Shark game, but never upgraded, so I think I'm out of luck at this point.

I'm in a love/hate relationship with the Shark. Might help if I had my stick center-mounted and with an extension, but currently on a side-stick configuration frown Just getting the thing to fly as you want is an accomplishment in itself!!

I don't know if the flight model changed, but in the version I had, I was able to fly it around pretty well, even landing on buildings (including the airfield tower) and flying under bridges. The problem I had was I got used to hiding behind trees and popping up to strike, and in the version I had, the trees had no affect on the AI. That meant if I were hiding behind the trees, I couldn't see anything, but AI enemy units could see me just fine, and their weapons passed right through the trees and hit me, so it was a little frustrating. I had been flying Gunship!, and it has collidable trees that would block weapons, and had gotten used to that and I had a hard time adapting to Black Shark.

Ah yes, Gunship! Is that the one where some "forests" were a box of trees you can fly into to hide? smile I loved that game as I had better depth perception compared to EECH so I could fly lower and faster!

They were bunches of trees, and I think treated as a single object, but I thought that was fine because in reality, any two trees closer together than the width of the chopper was basically a single obstacle, and I thought they did a pretty good job of breaking them up, so you had dense areas with gaps in between, and they seemed fairly naturally shaped (i.e., not rectangular). Its biggest issue was it was billed as being a Longbow sim but it lacked the high-end features. I tried to think of it as more of an AH-64A simulator, and in that I thought it wasn't bad. It even supported multiplayer in the same helo, so you could have a human team of pilot and CP/G in the same bird.

Here's an old video I made of it:

Yep! That's the one! I used to practice going inside those clumps of trees smile Not very successful! But the trees blocked LOS and also blocked enemy missiles which was good! Being able to weave between tree clumps was so cool after EECH's block forests biggrin

I love the Spitfire, but it's completely outclassed in this sim, isn't it? Must be frustrating to fly it. Nice screenies, though.

Thanks Arthonon. I actually rotated the screenshot 180 degrees as the aircraft is actually inverted in flight. It just looked better I thought
