I am suddenly interesting in flying Me262s with JG-7; I found something called 'stormbirds' & downloaded it but the instructions ain't too clear where I'm s'posed to unzip the darned thing so 'any help is appreciated' as always.
And
Are there any more JG7/Me262 S/P campaigns available?
Something else that helps me diagnose the problem is for you to post a link to the campaign, mission, or skin that is causing you the problem. That way anyone reading you post has the option to download it and diagnose it with the exact same files you have.
This is going to take a little work to fix. The download uses the full file path for the sim. If you open the DE folder you will probably find one of these two folders in the DE folder. IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 or The Storm Birds It all depends on how you extracted the files.

I can almost guarantee that the files are in your game it's just that you don't have them in the correct order for the campaign to work. When you unzipped the entire zip file into the DE folder is when things went wrong because the zip file has several "extra" folders in it since the zip file included the full file path for the game. That works fine when someone is using the default file path for the game but if you don't you need to know the file structure of the game to get the files in the correct folders.
For now let's forget about it and start over again.
Unzip the download into a folder on your desktop
Open the folder on your desktop and keep opening folders until you find the "TheStormBirds" folder. The Storm Birds\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\Missions\Campaign\DE\TheStormBirds
Copy TheStormBirds folder into the DE folder in your game.

OK I will try that...but I have to ask 'authentic skins' are kind of low in my list of prioritiies. Do the 'skins' need to be in the folder for the whole campaign to work?
Oh and lastly
Are there any other JG-7 campaigns I can sink my teeth into?
The skins are strictly ancillary and if you don't install them the game will use the default skins for the aircraft. The only reason to consider installing them is it will help you understand the file structure of the game a little better but again this is not necessary for the campaign to function.
