OK guys, I've gone into the \EECH\common\data\dynamics folder and attempted to enter some new values into the .dyn files, but it doesn't appear to be working. As a test, I altered the ah64a.dyn file and raised the fuel_weight value and max to 1158, then launched the sim and entered a Free Flight to check the fuel level in the AH64A. The fuel weight stays the same as before, 2.204*1108 kg =2442 lbs of fuel. I raised it to 1158 kgs so it should read 2552 lbs of fuel instead.
What am I doing wrong? Help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Javelin.
I also edited the apache.dyn file after locating the load command in the dynamics.c file in the code, that didn't work either... Dang.
I also noted the path is different for one option in ap_dyn.c, it goes for ..\common\data\apache.dyn but that file location didn't work either.
All right, I finally got the value to change. It was drawing numbers from the GWUT file, though it didn't work 100% correctly. The fuel level should have been 2552, but it locked in at 2500. I also had it set for fuel expenditure, but the number didn't move from 2500, it did move after I changed the fuel level back to the default. I'm guessing whoever programmed the cockpit gauges limited the disply to a max of 2500 lbs? Excel didn't cooperate either, I had to save the csv file from a text editor in order for it to work.
I need to know more about these GWUT files, can someone tell me when they get loaded into the sim? Found It. Fuel Wt seems to be the only physics parameter in there that gets read in on the setup routine.
So basically I just picked the worst possible item to test to see if the physics changes made it into the sim. Just my luck.
