That did have a mission where you assaulted a light house and anti ship battery.

Love H&D2, played it to death when it first came out smile
I've recently repurchased it through steam... first mission is in the snow though, and not a lighthouse.

Anyone remember the first mission from the original H&D?

I still remember that day in 1999 when I was glued to my monitor seeing that heavy pouring rain as me and my commandos made our way towards the train tracks and bridge that crossed the river.

IIRC light house is the second mission in h&d2, feel free to correct me.

Panzer, you instantly brought me back then !

Edit, checked it on youtube, it's mission 16 !

Dunno why this one made such an impression on me.

I love the Hidden and Dangerous games. To be honest I remember no lighthouse mission in HD2 though. You've got the first mission in Operation Snowball which drops you over that forest outside the enemy base with secret bunker below. The next mission takes place on the iceberg comm station with uboat. The next mission set is in Africa with Spaghetti Airport. Its been ages but I'm not sure the first one has it either so it must be another game that has a lighthouse mission.

Do you remember rwatson what kind of game perspective it was? First or third person shooter or both? Top down asymmetric view like in a strategy game? You say commandos so is it a WW2 era game or later? You've got me interested now. biggrin

As for Hidden and Dangerous talk I'm all for promoting and recommending these games anytime anywhere. Real classics.

Ah okay, cool. I never made it all the way through Sabre Squadron. Always got bogged down in the train yard mission which is a great mission and one of the more difficult HD2 missions for me.

The other mission from the original H&D that really struck me was the final mission in Prague with the very obvious sniper in the super high church steeple. It was a one shot-one kill deal if that sniper saw you before you saw him!
