Spoken like non developers speaking out of there waste orifices. COD = Correction of Defects.
Ice and Paradaz, what exactly do you do for a living? You seem so well informed on how ED is developing software. Ice, your knowledge of software development practices leaves me in awe..... *Eye Roll*

how ED is developing software. Irrelevant actually but we're looking at the meager result and it isn't really impressive. I ship adjustments on daily basis to my customers ERP systems and if I kept ED quality I'd be out of work by know (amazing how far bling bling and a starved customer base can get you, pretty far from my customer base - but on the other hand auditors and investors keep an aggressive eye on my customers)

Ice, your knowledge of software development practices leaves me in awe..... *Eye Roll* :p I don't need to know how to develop software to know when one is borked. Do you need to be a Michelin star chef to be able to tell that the food you're eating is rotten? Do you need to be a qualified mechanic to know that your car is running funny? I work as a RN for the NHS. Do you need to be a RN or a doctor to tell me I've done my job wrong or is it enough to know that your relative didn't have bed sores on hospital admission and 1 week later they have 5? I've answered your question, now what do you do for a living? Is it software development? No doubt but they have their cod servers. Spoken like non developers speaking out of there waste orifices. COD = Correction of Defects. Please explain to me what a "correction of defects server" is?

I ship adjustments on daily basis to my customers ERP systems WTH is that??? Can you use human terms to explain? Funny how Grumpy brings up this excuse now. I've not heard this line of excuse in a long time; I thought it was well squashed but apparently not.

enterprise resource planning.
There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB. The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed. There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

:p Its completely irrelevant but I'm a technical lead/technical authority on Integration for a large defence company, whose primary work and current projects are for weapons interfaces and associated weapons systems on Naval platforms. Given that you are asking basic questions about DCS with regards to SSD and mechanical drive performance, can I ask exactly what you do for a living given that you seemingly want to position yourself as a defender for ED software development? I don't have a clue what ED have as part of their software development process........but it's blatantly obvious what processes they don't have, what effect this has on integration, test and release and why they hemorrhage resources, time and funds and then ultimately deliver sub-standard products with poor management and planning behind the entire team.

As I said again some month ago, I'm still fascinated by Ice' unending devotion, passion, dedication and never ending energy on that DCS matter. Man, if you could channel that energy into something constructive, you could move mountains.... or even build a Combat Flight Simulator!! With a dynamic campaign even ... ;-)

lol jens well said It appears Ice's agenda is to educate the masses about the follies of DCS And does not a bad job, Ice provides information, which can influence our perception, which can affect our opinion. However, any positive you have to say about DCS Ice'll counter with a negative, so not much credibility but it is entertaining. Just busting your chops Ice

If you have a counter to why he may be wrong about ED/DCS's faults...then be sure to share. If you would like ED's faults distilled down and glossed over, there are plenty of other forums for that.

Thanks Force10. For the record guys, I look forward to be proven wrong regarding ED's/DCS's faults but at this point, I don't see that happening barring a big shift in the way ED does things. The ball is still in ED's court.

Actually Force, I don't ever recall a comment from Bisher that is actually related to any topic anywhere.....all Bisher's comments are in fact based on member attacks rather than any topic or thread at hand. Hardly worthy of carrying membership status other than a PR rep on ED's side of the net...in fact Bisher could perhaps coach the entire ED' moderating team on how to make an outstanding community manager with the boring comments attacking members here that are entirely OT. It is unfortunate our resident heckler bisher is not a team player (on any side of the net) and I suggest he sits out the game for a couple of weeks or so. Even resident comedians such as myself get tired of the same heckler's, especially those that repeat the same boring one liners at every show.

I can definitely see this thing being the benchmark for future combat flight simulations. The flight model, visuals and sound are the best i've experienced in a pc game. It won't be a benchmark for anything at it's current state. Maybe for visuals, but we all know ED is good at eye candy. Even videos I've seen, missile performance is still seems way off so it can't be a benchmark for that. Definitely can't be a benchmark for A-G radar or TGP implementation. Will probably be a benchmark for how long a module takes to develop If you just want a pretty aircraft to fly in and fire missile and drop dumb bombs, then yeah, it's cool. A Hornet with limited A-A radar modes, no AIM-120, no LGBs/JDAMs, no TGP, no HARMs, no Mavericks, etc. etc. cannot be a benchmark for a COMBAT flight sim. As always, let's not give ED credit for work it has yet to do. I'm sure some will say I'm fanboying right now, and honestly, I am because this thing is awesome. Got a grown ass man excited about a video game. Business practices aside, I don't see how anyone could dislike this module. We all understand being excited about a video game Some game devs can actually get fans excited about a video game **and** deliver a good game at the end of it. Not saying the Hornet is not good, but it's about 30-40% feature complete at this point so if this Hornet blows your mind, just imagine what a 80-90% feature complete Hornet could do! **THAT** Hornet is what I am excited about!!
