No, not on missions themselves but on the time you have to get to the mission area (planet/system) or else Lady Arano gets overrun or whatever.

Also did my best to ignore the disconnect with "intercept convoy" missions that you can let the time run for a few days and still do the mission frown

I like the fact you are not stuck to someone elses timeline/pace of game.

I have had way more fun running around the galaxy "combat shopping" than on the story missions;.

Had a fight for my life last night in a silly little 2 1/2 skulls/pumpkin heads mission. I ended up killing at least 10 or 11 mechs and only one was a light, the rest all medium and heavies. No idea why it was so hard but these guys were aggressive! The leader was an "elite mech warrior" in a Grasshopper. I think all my mechs were down to very low armor when done.

Of course! That's why I was suggesting that just as an option rather than being mandatory. I just feel like delaying a story mission breaks the immersion, same as delaying a "intercept the convoy" type missions.

I just assume they're daily convoys. LOL

Finished the campaign, so the rest of the map is open. Seeing a lot more Atlas and Stalkers. Still looking for those double heat sinks, pulse lasers and gauss rifles/ammo.

Yesterday was a good day. Scored a King Crab and a 2nd Highlander. Almost got a Banshee but ended up blasting his CT to flinders with my SRM Shadowhawk. It was worth it though, he blow'd up REAL GOOD. Looking forward to running both Highlanders with a Catapult in support and the Shadowhawk as Scout/skirmisher

I really hope they have dlc in the works with some new storylines.
Lots of 5 star missions in the new zones, but nothing 2 Atlas and 2 Stalkers can’t handle.

And that's where the old-school TT player in me thinks that the progression was too fast?

Too fast? I’m over 300 weeks into the game. LOL It wasn’t too fast, I thought it took too long to get the mechs I wanted.
...and I didn’t say it was easy. Some of these missions are relentless. You can’t just stroll in wherever you want, using the map well is as important as what weapons you bring.
Go rushing in on these missions and you may find yourself in the middle of 9 assaults ruining your day.

Possibly. Maybe I just lucked out on the Altas and King Crab too early.

I stopped story at Panzyr, I haven't seen a single Assault. only 2 CPults. I'm assuming as soon as I hit a magic mission in the story, that's all I'm going to see. How many recruit MWs due you guys have in the wings?

I try to keep two "trainees" going at all times. I have 3 non-originals now, as the Argo with it's training mods helps a lot. Amazingly I still have all four of my originals, but I have lost 2 non-originals and Nix has died at least 3 times. biggrin

You mean "died". Yeah Behemoth #2 has been in the Medbay for months after some missions.

My number 1 scrub just finished all training, so I now have 5 all 10's and two in training, a scout and a LRM support guy.

Did two campaign missions the last couple of days another soon. Still having tons of fun combat shopping my way around space.

I haven't seen any of the above even in salvage.

Heck, my Highlander is still the biggest mech I have.

Finished the campaign yesterday, embarking today as total freelance merc. Very cool. A couple of goodies that were worth it and managed to score an Awesome 8T on the final round which i have been trying to get forever.

Looking forward to whatever harebrained comes up with for add-ons. Open campaign format for steam workshop would be great, as would mission editor. Game seems custom made for a dynamic campaign supporting one or more of the IS houses in a 'moving front line' kind of dynamic war. Here's hoping HBS made a TON of money on this title so they can keep developing it...

One downside - after playing through this game, it really makes me sad what PGI did to the poor Highlander in Mechwarrior Online. It's a total BRUTE in Battletech.

Agreed on the Highlander! My thoughts exactly.
I can’t help but hope that if you advance the storyline enough calendarwise that the clans invade. LOL
That would be one hell of an easter egg!
I’m over 6 years in so far, so what, 19 years to go?

Still no Ravens, DHS, pulse weapons or gauss so far.
I’m targeting new regions and planets with previous star league and a black market. Not many of those around.
